The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

I'm about to make my own way, heaven help me keep my faith Silver blue eyed witch had always been taught to be confident in anything you do. Even if you do not know how to do something, have the confidence to ask and the confidence to learn. People were more inclined to help someone who expressed confidence rather than someone who was terrified of the task put before them. Those silver blue eyes of hers dare to meet his own intense gaze, and though she does not back down and flitter her blue eyes away from him, she certainly doesn't challenge him either. The lithe witch sits upright in her chair, conscious of making sure she didn't slouch, not wanting the man to think her lazy, and peers out at him underneath thick, long lashes as she pushes dark strands of hair behind her ear, that sable hair as smooth as silk. But still, sparkling silver blue eyes remain focused on Mr. Burton. Though she stays quiet in her thought, those silver blue eyes of hers remain focused until she is ready to answer. Despite the fact that she takes the question in, he doesn't seem to rush her, which Kathryn finds rather interesting. "As soon as I mentioned where I was going to school, everyone immediately told me about your company, so I decided to do some of my own research to see if you lived up the to the hype," she says, a smile hidden in her crystalline gaze as she looks to his own of dark mocha, an almost coy smile finds her face. "And it did, which I find isn't so common in companies," she finishes. "Your customers rave about you and your advertisement by word of mouth is strong," Kathryn says, letting silver blue gaze move towards his own. His gaze was intense, even hungry perhaps, Kathryn having had no experience with weres can only look on, some curiosity burning within baby blues. His next words catch her off guard, while companies may inform interns the work will be difficult, they certainly do not talk about quitting and the bright blue eyed witch is taken back for a moment, unsure of how to respond, but still, she wears a warm smile towards the chocolate eyed business man. She decides in that moment that she will not shy away from those dark eyes and instead will meet them head on with her own of silver blue. "There is always risks attempting something new, but before even having applied for the internship I weighed them," she says confidently in smooth lyrics. The dark haired witch looks to him with a smile. "I considered this before I walked through the door and my interest has stayed steadfast." Kathryn was bound and determined to receive this internship. For even though she may have a job awaiting her after graduation, she still knows that her clients look at who she has worked with, after all what would make them trust such a young woman after all? "As for what interests me in the field," she pauses for a moment of thinking why she had asked her granddad in the first place if she could one day take over the business. "Creating something tangible," she decides on before an after thoughts hits her. "Creating something tangible and working with clients in the process, establishing those relationships," she finishes, remembering how so many of the clients of her family's business sometimes met with her granddad and the meetings would go over simply due to the fact that they got caught up in a conversation about their families of stories they had experienced in their life. She had to admit, this was not a typical interview. Sure, most of the aspects were still the same, sit down, ask questions, give responses, essentially have to sell yourself, but these questions, they weren't so much about the type of worker Kathryn was, but instead, they felt more directly aimed at her character. Strange, she did think, but refreshing all the same. But his next question, now this was an easy one for the young brunette witch to answer. "I have actually, not the very, very beginning because I was so little, but my grandfather has a whiskey business, and I saw him buy the plot of land and then we moved to a bigger and he began to grow the business side of it," she says. "But I watched as they built barns and large buildings for storage, but I think what was most eye opening was watching him build a business. The setbacks, the frustration, the lack of money, the earning of money, the loss of that money. It isn't a straight line from point A to Z," she finishes her answer, not entirely sure if it was what he was looking for, but it was the best she had. The interest that sparks in his eyes surprises the witch, and he asks her to expand. Glacial eyes widen for a moment, caught off guard, and she finds herself having to dig deep. She had given her feeling on the topic, but what was the reasoning behind the feeling? It was not an answer readily available for Kathryn to hand over to Mr. Burton. And then, a memory comes to mind and perhaps the reason behind such a feeling. "Well, when I was little I was taken to the cliff dwellings in the southwest and I thought that perhaps one of the only reasons this exist is because of what they built, what interest would we have in such a civilization if they hadn't built such structures. Your buildings can do that, even long after you're gone, they can still know that you existed because of what you built," she says, before offering a shrug. "I don't know, maybe it has to do with the human fear of our own mortality, we want to be immortal, which we can never be," Kathryn briefly thinks of the vampire and dark hunter she had met but quickly shakes it off, "We need to leave a piece of ourselves behind, it is our own sense of immortality." She blinked those crystalline eyes, not having realized they had seemed to glaze over in thought. Again, he catches the witch off guard. "Honest?" She questions him, hoping this was not some sort of trick question to decide her fate of this interview. "I think they are biased towards people who can talk and manipulate another's perception of themselves the best," she says, the words running themselves from her lips before she can even stop them. A slight internal cringe, maybe he wasn't looking for that much honesty. Kathryn waits to hear his response, staying quiet as he then offers her yet another question, which sets her lips into a simper of a grin. "I have all the time in the world this afternoon." |
