East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

The girl gave her name as Kathryn with really no hesitation and Erik felt his own lips tug into a warm smile in response, tilting his head in greeting. "Pleasure to meet you, Kathryn." He watched as she slowly lowered herself into the seat beside him before asking after his own name. His eyes twinkled as he lifted a brow. "Erik." He said back. He glanced only momentarily down at the book in her hands before he leaned back, not wanting to bug her too much if she truly did wish for quiet time to read. He stayed well aware of his surroundings, his predator senses spreading out around him to feel for other species. He could sense that she was something other than human herself, and when he inhaled, he could smell the silver in her blood. A witch.

For a moment, he considered asking if she ran into anyone named Sorcha but he was sure Sorcha would have gone to a coven or a group of older witches. Kathryn looked pretty young, though he knew some witches with dark magic could almost make themselves immortal. She didn't seem the dark magic type but he knew better than to judge a book by its cover. He tried to focus back on the newspaper but he kept glancing at her from the corner of his eye. He was curious of her and what kind of magic she chose to do.
