East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

When he mentioned offering to teach Nadya's children how to swim and how fascinated they had been by his surfboard, he had never thought that Malia would be just as curious about the surfboard as well. So when she asked what it was, he looked over at her in almost disbelief. "You don't know what a surfboard is?" He was a little shocked, but he supposed he had heard worse before. There were plenty of things that he had never been exposed to in his lifetime that others might find normal - like vibrators, lingerie, strip clubs. "It's a board that you stand on and ride waves with. It's quite fun." Perhaps that had been one of the fun things about living along the coast in South Carolina. While the waves were not like California, they were good enough.

He smiled over at her when she asked him if he would teach her to surf. He looked over at her and nodded his head softly. "I would be delighted to." He loved sharing his passion for the water to anyone who wanted to learn. He would enjoy every second of teaching her to surf. It never occurred to him that she might wear a bikini or a thong. He supposed that was a bridge he would cross when he got to it.

They moved onto his dating life, about how he abhorred the idea of homosexuality and how he had dated women before, but never truly meant anything to him. They weren't wife material and that was what Ashton was looking for in life. He wanted someone who accepted him for who he was and encouraged his beliefs, no matter how strange they might be.

She claimed that there was nothing plain about him and he simply smiled at her. The smile seemed to broaden as she continued, saying that he was different and that's what made him stand out. He was touched that she sounded genuine. "Those girls wanted something else in life. I want to find a life partner - someone who loves me for me and supports me. I want to find the same in someone else." Realizing that he was pretty much laying out what he wanted in a girlfriend to someone who may or may not be interested in him romantically, he blushed. "I did not mean to burden you with all of that just yet." Chances are, she wasn't the type of girl for him - they rarely were. Most heard what he wanted in a relationship and then ran for the hills.
