Boone had never been the sort who sat around and casually engaged in pleasant conversations. She didn't want to believe that he was only in it for the sex, but that was the truth. It was just easier that way. Feelings complicated things and he would just rather not deal with those at all. Not to mention, relationships of any kind took work and honestly, Boone wasn't really one who liked to put much effort into anything to either start it or maintain it. In essence, he was lazy.
He tried to tell her that the boy she was interested in was probably (almost definitely) a virgin, but she was trying to defend his honor. It was cute, really. "Hurt people are like me, we like things with no emotion, no feelings. Your little boyfriend sounds more inexperienced than hurt." Surprise! There was a side to Boone that he didn't often share about. He had been hurt far more times than he cared to admit to, but he supposed he would use it to make his point.
She mentioned wanting to see him again, and he could almost see the way she blushed while thinking of him. He must be doing something right if he had her so smitten. It was nauseating, really. He took one final sip of his coffee before he slipped from the booth. "Then go see him again." If he wasn't going to get any tail from this conversation, it was probably best that he get going. He needed to wash off his latest conquest's perfume before he set out to do it all again.
He stood up from the booth, paid for both their meals, then turned to head out the diner's front door. As he came around the corner, he winked at her through the window before disappearing down the street.
