East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

i'm not ashamed of my scars, i'm ashamed of the world for not understanding.

Hearing her Alpha snort in disagreement at the idea that the owner of his new favorite bakery was a turtle left a small grin on her face. It was fun to debate on just what sort of species this woman was. It wasn't important whether or not either of them were correct. It was a simple conversation, meant to help pass the time walking from his office and down towards his garage of the cars he owned. The mention that turtles could not be small was answered with a very curious look. Turtles were small though and they were slow. In her mind a turtle was the size of her hand or that of a very big dinner plate, maybe a smidge bigger than that...but that was all. Being a turtle would not be a very fun species to be, how truly boring life must be. Delivering the bundle of taxes to the post office and sending them off was easily done without much fuss. Which was good, because having him accompany her to send out taxes was a ploy. A good ploy! Not one that would bring him any harm. Maybe some uneasiness, but it was all done with good intentions. Raven was happy he agreed to come with her. He didn't have to. He could have told her to do it herself, just as she had done in the past, but he didn't. It had been awhile since they were alone together...in fact it's been awhile since he allowed himself to be around anyone. For a very long time he kept to himself, been gone for weeks way before that, his absence hard to accept. Tobias wouldn't tell her why and she wouldn't dare poke around any further with her mate, but maybe now she could with the green-eyed man himself...maybe.

With a small smile, she nodded her head, thanking him for holding the door as they walked into the warm bakery with delicious smelling aromas of freshly baked goods. It wasn't a wonder to see why this place was full of customers. This Were-reptile apparently had the talent to create some appealing baked goods. Since Tetradore was a frequent visitor that meant he would be an excellent source of information to know what she should and shouldn't get in this establishment. Hearing him claim his favorite foods were mostly chocolate she couldn't help, but give him a warm simper as she chuckled. Of course her Were-King would take a liking to a chocolate tasting treat. Standing as high as she could on the tip of her toes she playfully ruffled his hair in a teasing gesture. His love of chocolate would one day come back to haunt him, when his firm and flat stomach would turn round. He and her mate would share that fate when they got a bit older, if they weren't too careful. Paying for their drinks and snacks she led him over towards a table, placing her cup of tea down. How to start this conversation, she did not know. Maybe business would be a good start. She was pleased to hear that Tetradore liked her idea about the opportunity to open business with water fights. His mention that he was worried about Dark Hunters was answered with a small snort of her own as she shook her head in disagreement.

"Dark Hunters can be easily bought. Besides I have one that might assist me in keeping the others away if Dark Hunters become a problem."

Azrael would surely assist her in keeping other Dark Hunters or the Council at bay. From the way he spoke it sounded like he was on the Council's goodside. Plus he had told her once that he actually told the Council he approved their business and rule over the West, as they kept the crime rate low and the other Weres in line. Of course he told her he would never repeat those words again in front of anyone else if she asked him. Besides after that terrible experience at that horrendous warehouse, he owed her a favor. That and the one time they had to tag-team to rescue Sera from those other supernatural creatures. Yep, she was certain that Azrael would be on her side to help her out. Tearing parts of the paper off her gingerbread cupcake, she took a small bite on the side, chewing it thoughtfully, watching as he pulled his warm chocolate chip cookie out of the package.

"Carolina is working out very well, thank you for letting me have her."

The snow-leopard was working out pretty well at the Ark. She caught on quickly to how things worked. Their patrons seemed to like her. Best part was that nothing was stolen. The she-wolf was quite pleased with herself for taking that chance to have Carolina under their roof. Not to mention she was sort of proving her Alpha wrong. Not that she would rub it in his face that would be wrong. Setting her cupcake down on a napkin she picked up her cup of tea, her thumb circling part of the rim for a moment. Hopefully this would work. Her shoulders began to tense up as she kept her breathing steady, grabbing ahold any courage she had, knowing she was stumbling into uncharted territory. Keeping her head down, blue-grey eyes shyly looked up at him, she softly muttered her question.

"Tetra, have you been okay? I know we aren't blood, but you've been distant. I've been worried about you."
