He had never seen the likes of what he just saw in that store. The gun literally fell to pieces and he had enough common sense to know that wasn't what a gun did on its own. The woman glanced over at him and he tensed, not sure whether she was an ally or an enemy at this point. Did she do that to the gun? If so, could she do that to people too? It wasn't exactly fear he was feeling but more curiosity and fascination. What else was she capable of? When she snapped her head around toward the door, he followed her gaze to see one of the men turning tail toward the street outside. He wondered if she'd go after him but that seemed like a bad guy move. Maybe she had taught the guy enough of a lesson. When she looked back at him, he arched a brow and looked up at her. Her answer wasn't at all what he was expecting. "That makes one of us." He murmured back. The simper on her lips was curious indeed before she spoke some other language all together and looked toward where the store owner had come out of hiding with a leather bag of some sort. What the hell? Why did she make it seem like there was nothing out of the ordinary about what just happened? Was that bag why she was here in the first place? What was in it? He was almost afraid to know. She reached for the bag, throwing it over her shoulder before she headed for the door. He remained frozen on the floor until she stopped to look back at him and tell him he should probably get moving before the cops came. Scowling as he thought again of his particular predicament, he groaned and moved to his feet. Glancing at the owner, he sighed. "Um, I guess I'll look elsewhere for...yeah, never mind." Was he really about to ask about that necklace? There were definitely other stores that weren't ransacked that he could check in. He followed the woman out the door. He was about to just let her go, but his curiosity got the better of him. "Hey! Uh, thanks for that, back there. That was a neat trick with the gun." There you go, play it cool, right? Act like it was just a magic act, when every nerve in his body told him it was more than that. |
