It had been a few months since she last saw The King of Italy. Before her home met its watery grave, he had been traveling overseas doing whatever sort of royal task he was meant to complete. It must be nice to be able to travel and see the world. Observe the different architecture, walk down those worn-down corridors, try the different food, and learn more about the people and their culture. Just imagine all the different countries he got to visit. Of course, he must have been to ever royal palace or some sort of castle through Europe but was he able to experience those smaller towns that barely got any tourist traffic. Before she was able to see Dorian get married or go to Africa with her mate on their honeymoon, the only way Raven got to travel was by reading books. Those novels allowed the woman to escape and imagine herself in a different place both fiction and non-fiction. Now that she was older and with some money, traveling the world on occasion was something she was capable of. Unfortunately, she wouldn't be able to leave the country any time soon. Perhaps when the little cub was a bit older, she would go somewhere fun with her husband. They did need to solve that medallion, and Frost did say it would probably be out of the country. One adventure at a time, she'll have to go through the beginning of motherhood for a while, that mystery adventure would have to wait.
Quietly the expecting Mother paced around the room with various wooden signs of different shapes, sizes, designs, and colors. For such a very busy-feeling room she was surprised to find it somewhat peaceful and calm. Perhaps that was because there was no one else in the room with her. Usually, around this time, there was a class going on, but Raven had paid the owner a few extra hundred dollars to allow them to have a private party for two, well three of them. The owner was rather quite sweet. Due to the pandemic, her business went to a standstill and now that she could get her business back up and running, she needed all the help she could get. Once Raven explained, in-person, that her guest would be an internationally known individual, the woman obliged completely understanding the need for privacy, not to mention the soon to be expecting Mother didn't need to experience the stress of making sure he was okay and not bothered. When she checked with Dorian's assistant on availability, she happily explained to the assistant what she wanted to do and asked a very polite favor. Raven wanted to surprise her friend over the announcement of her child and to do that, she needed his eyes to be blindfolded...because she couldn't well hide her baby bump! The assistant promised her that she would make sure that Dorian wore some sort of blindfold.
The sound of a bell chiming by the front door caught her attention. Turning around she would find Dorian's driver carefully leading the blindfolded King into the shop. Raven told the assistant that he shouldn't wear anything too fancy. After all, they were probably going to get a little bit messy. Pulling some of her golden-brown curls out from her eyes she couldn't help but chuckle softly as Dorian attempted to walk further into the shop. Shuffling towards him she extended her arms, her hands held open as the Driver slowly guided Dorian's hands to touch her own. Once she could feel his smooth hands, she held onto them, squeezing them in a gentle and reassuring manner. In a cheerful voice, she eagerly greeted her close friend.
Once Dorian understood and responded Raven would playfully tell him her riddle.
If he guessed correctly, he would take the blindfold off and see before him a very pregnant Raven wearing a navy-blue dress that clearly displayed her modest baby bump. Like any other pregnant woman, she was glowing with such pride and happiness.
