The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

iliana amaranth
She's habitually paradoxical, a parallel perpendicular;
The dark prince's touch felt cool in comparison to her much warmer skin and yet it felt almost refreshing as cool springs to a parched traveler. How she found herself wanting to press his coolness to her heated blushing cheeks and yet the promise of a dance seemed to make her forget everything in the wake of the excitement that swallowed her whole. She loved to dance as much as the wind liked to cause mischief! She could barely contain it as it thrummed within her like her wild heartbeat. She was unable to keep still even as he guided where he needed her hands to teach her his dance. He was a gentleman through and through, like nothing she never really known. Iliana was well aware of where he placed his confident hands, not even the least bit concerned that there was no music. In fact, the fae enjoyed that idea even more. A fleeting focus overtook the girl as he displayed those steps, solidifying them into memory.
The silvery giggle escaped her lips, wondering if that was all! She seemed swept away with his alluring smile like so many probably did. Like he cast some spell she wondered why anyone would ever want to fight. Not that the fae needed a spell when she trusted the vampire prince, fangs and all. She would not have taken him to this place that was sacred to her if she hadn't. The dance as he taught her was a little slow as she learned those steps, her stare shifted from her feet to his beckoning eyes, unable to know where to settle. His eyes were certainly lovely, as though they held every single desire she had ever had and never spoken, lost within their navy depths.
The prince then asked if she would like to move! She could not help that excited chirp of a reply, his chuckle soon washed over her that made her cheeks want to heat again! Yet she was nothing but eager, to show that she could do it, to dance, to get lost in those steps she had determinedly committed them to memory. They swept over the forest clearings ground, their footsteps almost padded from the damp leaves and pine needles. The moon's vibrant showering glow seemed to bathe them in ample celestial light. She cherished every minute of it. Just when she thought it could not get any better the man began to hum a flowing perfect tune. A song the woman didn't recognize and yet adored all the same. Oh, his voice sounded almost ethereal, enhanced by the gentle breeze that toyed with her pale locks that occasionally danced around and framed her face. It was like he hummed the music of the forest itself, echoing that ancient and welcoming song. For a moment she allowed herself to lean into the prince, to allow her eyes flutter shut and yet paid the price by losing track of her feet! Ooops, her eyes shot open when her shoes scraped against his even though he hardly seemed to mind, nor did he allow it to ruin that flow.
That little stumble hardly stopped her either, especially as she uttered that challenge to go faster! She could tell, he held back for her own benefit and how she wanted more, was ready for it. How easily he guided her around the outskirts where she could hear the quiet rumblings of her animal friends. They should have joined and yet she seemed far more focused on Sebastian. It was like a moment right out a fairytale. She was free, lost to the fluid, sweeping movements, ready for each step that he guided her through that enchanting clearing. It was like flying. It must have been. How she never wanted that dance to ever end and yet like all things, it had to when the song did. He twirled her expertly and she felt her body ready for it, moving with the gracefulness one would expect of her species. Her mind was a busy place and it often distracted her limbs as her mind carried elsewhere. But this was fun. Better than any of the dances she had been forced to learn. They all seemed to pale in comparison to this. Another feather-light giggle as that final step was made. How badly she wanted to go a second time. Round and round until her limbs couldn't carry her anymore.
He released her hand and yet one still remained upon her waist, the one that kept her close. As if he knew that her body still held the rhythm of his song and if he let her go she might fly away like a bird. A trickle of curiousity entered her metallic eyes that seemed to search for his, a smile curled on her lips as she looked at him with sheer contentment. It was when his free hand suddenly reached for her jaw that made her forget to breathe and still like she was nothing more than a rabbit in headlights. She was not used to this touching. Very few did. The very sound of her name upon his tongue could have had her sinking to her knees, only he guided her closer to him. Closer to the soothing safety he quietly promised her and yet never said out loud.
The fae hardly seemed to mind. Her silvery eyes found his darkening irises fascinating, reminding her of the deepest, perilous waters of the ocean. Yet how that hardly seemed to frighten her, in fact, she imagined herself enveloped with the cool feel of water. But her heart raced swiftly when his question stunned her so resolutely the girl forgot to blink as she openly gawked at his handsome face. Eventually, it would seem he had broken her before her expression turned questioning even though her eyes widened. A true kiss? That was when she noticed his lips. They were lovely lips. Yet she never quite daydreamed about kisses and gentle touches... and yet she seemed to be melting at the prospect from him. It was all she could think of at that moment. A kiss. A real kiss. She seemed so swept away in the welcomed feeling of him and his embrace. How could she say no? Why would she? What would it feel like? Would the world simply stop like he made her feel when they danced?
"Please." Was the only quiet word she say while he held her so close. How mesmerized she was, fully tangled within his welcoming spell. How could she want for anything else? How unaware she was of anything else other than him as the wind seemed to swirl around them softly. It was one thing to be surprised and wholly another to know it was coming. "What if... I am a bad at it?" She blurted out.
