Some people thought they lived in the city or that they even owned a piece of land in the city. Tipson labeled the city as his, even if the rest of the world didn't realize it. Tipson's version of work today had been extremely boring but necessary. He spent some time in a library and eventually checked out some books to study at home. What had he chosen as reading sources for the day? He read into the specifics of the cities laws. Requirements to prove one's guilt, trespassing details, warnings, and plenty of boring terms. He made particular note of the jargon used in the book.
After that, he went into some specifics on politics, history, and finally falconry. The last one might seem an odd choice but that was the point. Knowing a few facts on the most random things could come in handy when meeting different people and aiming to fit in. Any thief should keep up on the law and politics was a hidden heartbeat in a city too many ignored.
A day of boring done and over with Tipson left the house to reward himself for a boring job well done. He brought a few flashcards in a pocket to study on the bus trip to the eastern part of the city. Normally Tipson normally spent his evenings drinking in a relaxed establishment where no one cared who you were, what you looked like, how much you drank and you could expect a beating when someone caught you cheating at cards. Man, the bruises had hurt after that fail.
Tonight it would be something classier. Tipson war a navy blue polo shirt, a nice pair of black slacks, and some black tennis shoes. Something better than he'd spend much time with around home but less than when he visited snobville. With a relaxed smile on his face, Tipson made his way into the Inner Sanctum. Something to make the day a bit different than his normal. He'd had coffee once or twice here but more so he liked it for the pastries. The ones with fruity gooey fillings being the best.
Tipson stepped into the café, a pleasant smile on his face, and made his way to the counter. He hadn't visited in the evening before and wondered how much the menu changed. Well, his main interest was trying alcohol somewhere different. How fresh would pastries be at this hour? Did they even bother with pastries this late or at night? Well, now that he was here he'd find out.
