East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

i used to rule the world

seas would rise when i gave the word

The equine's snort alone was enough to offer Alexander a fashion of a response, one that clearly resonated with a simple 'no'. Frost, as he was now called, was entirely stubborn in a fashion that only perhaps might have rivaled his own. Fortunately, Alexander was as patient as he was hard headed. Never the less, he followed after the steed in the wake of the trampled grass from the heavy Shire's footfalls, struggling through the tall grass that brushed across his sides ever so slightly. Truly he'd been through rougher terrain in his past but it had been some time since Alexander had left the comfort of his cafe. The Macedonian man paused ever so slightly at the large animal's hesitance, his blue-green gaze falling upon the creature with a vague inquisitiveness. He watched in silence as the steed's mouth raised, echoing a whinnied call across the endless plains. Alexander remained where he was, his arms folding over his chest to simply stare at the were-creature in front of him, waiting until the foot falls of another of his kind could be heard across the field. Alexander watched in silent observations the much smaller pony's reaction to ivory equine that had dragged him here in the first place.

If anything, the Dark Hunter had been around equines enough through out his younger years to recognize the dance of dominance and submissiveness that they so weaved. Usually, any groups of animal species held a strict hierarchy of power, much like that his own species clung to. Once upon a time, he had been at the pentacle of such a monarchy. Once the world had been his to claim and now look at him. His lips pursed together, momentarily distracted by those lingering memories of all that he had lost over the centuries before their line of power was once again reaffirmed and Alexander found the much smaller steed making an effort to speak to him. He listened in silence to the words that tumbled from the equine's mouth, his gaze shifting between the two steeds with his eyebrows raising ever so slightly as the horse continued. A soft snort left his noise, his head shaking ever so slightly in the process. Earning the trust of other hunters was hardly a difficult thing for Alexander. He was a legend amongst their kind just as much as he was for the world at large. All he had to do was speak his full name and doors magically opened for him. His age, who he was, what he had done certainly had it's benefits. The council largely left him alone, if only because he was vastly older then many of those settled upon their gilded seats. If he claimed the ivory steed as his, he was quite certain it was a claim they would respect for life.

Alexander's gaze shifted once again between the two, watching as the smaller creature danced out of Frost's grasp. He cleared his throat ever so slightly, addressing the horses at large. "What is in this for me if I do decide to help? The promise to not trample me in the field is hardly compelling enough to say no." Alexander replied. He had never taken well to threats, most of them probing him only to take exactly what he wanted even more - be it in the face of an elephant or a wild horse. He would require far more then the promise of a long walk home and being mauled by hooves to coax him into such a ridiculous game in the first place. "What is it they took?" He questioned again, his curiosity clearly getting the best of him. It was perhaps the answer to this second question that might have coaxed him into playing along, especially if his reward was nothing at all. Alexander paused, contemplating his options for a brief moment before offering a rather shortened version - the one that he had chosen for this era. "Alex."
