East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

i used to rule the world

seas would rise when i gave the word

The Macedonian man certainly noted the fashion at which her fair features seem to brighten at his off handed suggestion, clearly quite pleased by the idea though he suspected it was for entirely different reasons that Alexander himself was. He watched the girl lean into him, the whisper on her lips as soft as some clandestine secret. "A barista is Italian for some one who makes coffee. It used to be just expressos but now it's any drink in the coffee house. You would be a bariste. It means 'bar maid'." Alexander explained carefully. The dark hunter was a veritable warehouse of information, it was one of the few benefits of having been born long before mankind had discovered the delectable beverage that came from brewing the poignant beans.

Alexander couldn't help the way his gaze shifted towards her, just as he couldn't help but to notice the small shift in hue upon her cheeks. A small shrug crossed his shoulders as he stated just what he thought of the girl's persona. She certainly had a way of wiggling out emotions within him that he had forgotten existed within him. It had been a long time since those natural urges had called to him, since he had found himself fond of another, even just in company alone. What he didn't expect, however, was the words that left her lips hinted with a sort of despondency and self doubt that immediately grabbed his attention. Alexander's eyebrows furrowed ever so slightly, his hand reached out for her. His fingertips brushed against her chin ever so slightly as her firmly drew her attention back towards him. Alexander leaned towards her, his voice unyielding as he offered her the one assurance he was more then capable of seeing through. "No one will ever hurt you while you're here." He promised her with a steadfast vow.

He could see that the despondency that clung to her was hardly easy to push away, often taken by a mournful story of the loss of her village, one that culminated with a name - a name of a friend. It was this information he clung to, trying to push her thoughts to happier things and for a small moment it seemed as if he had succeeded in his mission. His crystalline gaze noted the warm smile that brushed across her sweet heart lips. Raven clearly meant a great deal to her, of that he was certain. He let the conversation shift to the topic of food. Divulging only vaguely his own travels, brushing over the foods they had eaten and the dangers that had existed within within his world before turning to offer to teach her how to craft the delicacy at his fingertips. "Nonsense." He responded simply refusing to believe her incapable of learning such a thing. Cooking was relatively easy, even though back in his time it was primarily restricted to a woman's job. Never the less, Alexander would not have lived as long as he did without learning some of such "women's" work. He didn't see fit to press her on the matter though, instead handing her a chocolate bar as he set about melting the sweet substance into the milk.

Slowly, Alexander picked up the spoon, mixing the chocolate into the milk, melting the gooey substance as he twirled around and around, all the while watching the woman as she slowly nibbled upon the bar that he'd given her. He was rather astonish to note that while she had chosen the drink, she seemed entirely ignorant as to just what she had chosen. The way her eyes seemed to light up at the taste of chocolate on her tongue coaxed a small chuckle from his lips, "It is." He replied, nodding ever so slightly as he took another glance at the now darkly colored substance within his pot. Alexander stood, making his way towards the kitchen to call over his shoulder, "I could see about making that happen." He responded simply enough as he fetched two mugs from the cupboards. Upon returning, he leaned down to place the cups in front of the hearth, once again settling at her side before pouring the rich chocolate liquid from the pot and into the mug. "One order of hot chocolate." He spoke, a small grin crossing his features as he handed her the mug, peculiarly eager to witness her reaction upon tasting the decadent cocoa.
