The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

With one hundred floors and a 125-foot spire, the Starlight Tower rises high above the Sacrosanct skyline. More than just a landmark, the Starlight Tower offers a unique mix of restaurants, shops, and offices spaced throughout the building. Organized into nine verticle zones, each of which features a sky lobby and a light-filled garden atrium which merge the upscale interior with a faux landscaped exterior setting.
Her laugh makes me smile at my proclamation that I'm Satan's child. I guess she wasn't expecting that. Her comment makes me shrug. "Might as well." She laughs again when I mention flossing but then her eyes turn distant, like she's doing some serious thinking. When she answers, I smirk, tilting my head as she brings up fairy bones and cat bones. I scowl. "I hate cats." I respond bitterly. Maybe it's just that cats never seem to like me. Could be that I spent most of my childhood tying bottle rockets to their tails and throwing fire crackers under their feet. Maybe other cats just know but every time I get around one now, they mostly hiss and spit and run away. It's like they dislike me just because my heart doesn't beat anymore. Stupid bastards. Not everyone can afford nine lives. I let her know that I dont' mind answering her questions as long as I get to retaliate and she doesn't seem to mind. When I mention how food doesn't taste the same, she gets that same look in her eyes and I wonder vaguely what she's thinking about. I smirk when she says I haven't tried her food yet, that blood is a good seasoning and asks if different races taste differently. I shrug again. "I guess that means you'll have to cook for me some day so we can test the theory. If you mean black or white, then no, no difference. As far as species go, a definite difference." I lean in closer as if this is the juicest stuff she'll ever hear. "Human blood is the richest and most sustaining. Vampire blood does more for healing and it also gives a good high, like human drugs. Fairy blood...now that's the most potent blood you'll ever find. It'll make a junkie out of a vampire in just a few tastes. Witches have a bitter metallic taste, like a rich wine you'll ever hate or love. I of course, hate it. Werewolves smell bad enough so I think it would take a pretty low class vampire to get close enough to taste one. Shifters aren't as bad as witches but I'd have to be close to desperate or starving to take a shifter's blood." At her mention of being a good sport, I grin. "When aren't you a good sport?" Curiosity makes my eyes gleam. |
