East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

It encouraged his behavior, the way in which she not only tolerated but responded to the cheek he was prone to spilling. For someone to be so tolerant of his bizarre ways was something that he hadn't been prepared for, but was more than happy to take it and to run with it. So far he had managed to behave himself, only once giving into the change on the night of the full moon â€" barring that he had kept himself in check, which probably explained the abundant energy he was feeling, he still wasn't sure how she'd take to finding out that he wasn't just an idiotic rich human.

"I'm going to take that as a compliment, whether it was meant that way or not." Through a mouthful of muffin, that despite Avi's thoughts on the matter, still tasted amazing to him. "No one ever calls me smart." Perhaps he wasn't meant to hear her retort, but his hearing range far surpassed that of a human's and it was often difficult for him to remember whether he shouldn't have heard something. Tilting his head back against the chair he watched her sideways as she made her way across the café towards him, lips pursing into a small "ooo" of delight when she passed the cocoa to him.

Sipping gingerly to avoid burning his tastebuds and ruining the muffin experience he watched her from the corner of his eye, "I honestly can't tell if you're joking about that." He paused, eyes narrowing as though suspicious about her motives. "It'd be awesome, but I get the feeling you're gonna get me all excited then turn me down." Pouting to give the full effect of his concern at the matter, he stared hard at her for a brief moment before tearing off another chunk of muffin.

An almost pensive expression fell over his face as he took the time to study the café, with its comfy ambient lighting and otherworldly trinkets. Nodding slowly as though checking things off on a list he finally returned his focus to Avi, an attempt at a serious countenance ruined before it settled by the glimmer in his eyes. "I could see why they're worried. Lot of flammable things in here, and you're that hot you could set them alight by just looking at them."

He grinned swiftly after the comment, realizing that what he had said may have over stepped the mark, often he wasn't likely to care whether it did, but in Avi's case he knew to tread lightly. He wouldn't put it past her to see him in a completely different light and for him to wake up the next morning and find her gone. "You're pretty interesting, you've got history, I can tell. Like a gangster or something, or maybe an assassin, trained from the moment you could walk. Maybe not that, you could break my neck with your little finger with a backstory like that.." His ramble tailed off as he tried to lead away from his previous mishap, but he let her take over the conversation, stuffing a larger portion of the muffin into his mouth to keep himself quiet for more than thirty seconds. "Bribery works, but, I don't really need the muffins, I don't mind hanging out here."

His gaze once again roamed the store, settling on the girl that now took Avi's place behind the counter, his eyes flitted swiftly whilst he studied her intently, trying to get a feel of her, for his own curiosity's sake more than anything. Though his focus snapped back to Avi as soon as she spoke, without letting her finish her sentence he nodded eagerly. "Yeah, screw anymore muffins, I'm saving myself for pizza." The constant drum of rain on the windowpanes had been a strangely soothing background noise until Avi had mentioned it, now his attention was drawn and he shuddered, sinking back into the chair as though it could burst through at any minute. " Do you want a lift home? Riding a bike in this would be hell."
