East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

NO CHURCH IN THE WILD

He wanted to test her, he always wanted to. She'd live just as long as he had, first as a human child and then near her twenty-first birthday as a fae. As his Companion and someone worthy of his bloodline and the gift he'd given her to walk side-by-side with the immortals. He'd even loved her through the centuries, there had never been any others in the girls since she'd changed. In the beginning he'd used his looks, his power and prestige to court those young maidens in his father's court and had even wandered outside to a human girl every once in awhile. But he'd barely strayed since, he'd longed to reach across the table and to run his finger down her cheek. It would be just as soft as he remembered, of this he was sure. He had also petitioned on her behalf to leave his homeland, willingly tying himself to Otherworld so she could go out into the human world for more than the times they had been in battle together.

He always knew where to find her, just like he always knew which way her body was going to move in the heat of a fight. He knew the moment she shifted as if intuned with her very soul. So he knew she'd been there, he'd felt the tension between them. It hung in the air, so tangible that he was sure he could cut it with a knife. Her hair was pale, as pale as the circlet that lay upon his brow that had hung in place since he was a child, visible to Fae eyes alone and his light eyes traced her features as if checking to see that she was well and in good condition. She answered him and his lips twitched, almost a smile,

"Too long," He said quietly, he'd missed her, missed the way she got him and his subtle gestures as if merely explaining to another would take too much work and it was not something he was willing to do. He leaned back in his chair then, pulling the cup towards him, raising it to his lips and taking a sip all the while studying her over the rim.

"So what did you think?" He asks, as the cup was placed on the table with a small clatter, clearly meant to be forgotten as he pushed it away from him with a finger. He knew she was lying, he knew she hadn't broken the wax seal with Liam's crest upon the back. And honestly, he didn't care that she didn't "give in to what was proper" they'd lived together for too long for him to care about those things. He'd never cared about it in Otherworld nor on the Outside but they had to cater to society and to an archaic culture. But now, he was honestly curious as to what she thought about the missive, he'd always valued her advice as surely as he followed his own gut.
