The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

I've been doing good, only feeding when I absolutely need it and not leaving any bodies in my wake. I've come to master getting humans to do what I want and feeding discreetly so I don't get caught then I trust the human to cover up the evidence so it doesn't trace back to me. I move around a lot, renting out rooms and paying cash so I leave no trace. The hunters are having fun trying to catch me, I'm sure. But at least I'm not just a low life killer like most of my kind. I've been around too long to just kill without reason and though I still take pleasure in my kills, I don't do it on a whim. I run a hand through my golden hair, looking down at the black tshirt and faded jeans I chose to wear today. I just wanted something comfortable. I glance around at the other people out as I walk, taking in the pretty girls and the creatures who think I don't know they exist. I'm usre they can smell my unique scent just as I can smell theirs to know they're anything but human and yet we still give polite nods as we walk past each other. When I see the vampire pub up ahead, I figure why not and head toward it, eager to try some of that AB negative they've been going on about, only in the vampire news letters of course. They cater to all creatures, both supernatural and human which keeps them better hidden so I don't mind going there. Plus it's a pretty classy place, not trashy or black market or anything like that. They actually take care of the place and I like that. When I walk in, I can smell the fresh food cooking. It seems to fill the air. My mouth doesn't water at the smell or anything since it's not really my type of food but at least it smells pleasant. And it brings in the humans like hot cakes. I'm not hungry right now though so I think I'll just hang out and see what there is to see, find out if I can catch sight of anyone worth talking to. I need to start finding leads on Alice's killer. As I take a seat, I note that the place is filling up fast and a pretty brunette has just walked in. She looks around, seeming comfortable in this atmosphere but almost disappointed that there's nowhere to sit. At least until she sees me. She makes her way to the bar and takes the empty seat beside me and I nod and offer a smile. I know no one else has taken the seat because they're either intimidated by my broad shoulders and dark look or they can smell my age and know I'm not one to be messed with. I can smell her perfume the moment she sits down, human. It's a tantalizing smell so it's a good thing I have control. She smiles at me and I take a sip of my drink, my hand covering the fact that it's red and warm. At her words, I chuckle under my breath and shake my head. "Afraid not. Sweden, but I'm guessing you must come from the kilt clan." I say in a pleasant manner, not that I'm trying to offend her or anything. I offer my hand to make things lighter. "Eric. You here for the good cooking?" |
