East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

This is where Hollywood cues the delusion,
that everything looked this blue through Sinatra's eyes.

Eleanor has never ridden a motorcycle, despite having worked as a bartender in a biker bar on the side of the highway in Jersey for many years. Back then it was just sort of her thing, a way to badger the regulars who insisted she'd ride bitch with them along the coastline. Truly, she never appreciated the crackling sounds. She felt bad when their ear-piercing sputters of the engines disturbed the cats in the alleys and the birds in the trees. But as Eleanor sipped at the remainder of her coffee, she humored the idea of this curvy blonde at the helm, cruising smoothly through the downtown streets of Sacrosanct. Maybe with her one day, tied gently around Ashtyn's waist. It made Wasp's heart thump a little louder in her chest, if only for a second. "I suppose so." Was all the fairy could muster.

It seemed time was passing more quickly than Eleanor had realized, for the crowds of suits and cell phones and clicking heels were thinning. The overall volume of chatter inside the cafe was slowly coming down. Eleanor yawned, too lazy to raise a slender porcelain hand to cover her feline-like growl. She blinked back tears in its wake. When Ashtyn spoke again, Eleanor refocused her gaze on the young girl, studying her harder this time. She certainly was done up for the day, given the early morning hour. She finds that peculiar. "Do you always look this good in the morning?" It was meant to be as much of a compliment as it was a serious inquiry. Who is up and going at this hour and doesn't have someplace to be? Ashtyn seemed to welcome the distraction of Eleanor's company. She found that peculiar. "I mean, don't you have someplace better to be?"

When she strarts drawing again Eleanor begins to relax. She allows her shoulders to push deeply in the plush lining of the booth behind her. Her charcoal-stained fingertips are raised to the sides of her head, and she rubs gingerly at her temples, further tizzying the messy, short locks atop her head. Internally, the fairy contemplated ordering another coffee. When Ashtyn asks her a question, Eleanor doesn't immediately move to respond. Instead, she continues to rub her head, her weary eyes closed, and hums softly under her breathe. With a low exhale, she finally raises her head, and slowly reopens her eyes. "My momma taught me not to talk to strangers."
