East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

The stars in their orbits

It didn't take long for the twins to make a mess of themselves and the cake as they chowed down on their first taste of sugar. Nadya tucked her phone back into her purse with a smile, but not before swiping through the pictures she had taken. Despite Frost's attempts to lean back out of them she had captured a few with him in them, his gaze frozen looking mildly concerned looking on at Micah who had his face filled with cake. It was not just a picture to remember their birthday on but a reminder to herself and against that nagging voice in the back of her mind that kept telling her of Frost's threat to her brother on her and the twins' life. She also couldn't deny doing a slight double take when Frost brushed aside his hair so you could fully see his face. Hair was perhaps her weakness but it was nice to see his eyes too.

"I suppose but eating with my brother and Tobias though is more like a game of who can keep their meat the longest." Not every meal was a negative experience with her pack. She had had many meals with those two during her pregnancy, but Tobias always had his eyes on everyone else's plate looking for who had what he wanted. His table manners were like eating with a seeing Helen Keller child. Nadya settled back in her chair to sip at the coffee that was beginning to quickly cool and listen to Frost. His previous comment about going back home had created a fleeting knot in her stomach for an absence she wasn't even aware she would feel until he had said it. Now it seemed he was undecided about leaving...at least for good. "So your pack isn't your army but you don't deny dealing in lucrative business to create a group that will allow you to go back to attack the people that once commanded you." Nadya wouldn't judge him for wanting revenge on the hunters who claimed ownership over himself and his family. Her brother had after all taken down Risque for the same reason.

Nadya raised a brow at the blonde as he pushed the rest of his cake across the small table to her in offering. Of course it could be viewed as a symbol but Nadya didn't comment on it. She simply smirked, watching him as she picked up the abandoned fork and popped a bite into her mouth. It took a bit of control not to choke on her next bite of cake though. She couldn't hide the surprise that arched her brows at Frost's confession at just how many children he actually had and with different woman no less. "Nine?? And they look at me like I'm a horrible person having two at my age." The last comment was sent with a scowl in the general direction of whoever happened to unfortunately be in the café. Her comment was by no means used negatively to Frost; simply her own frustrated observation. "So there are...9 lives that count on you, to make sure they have a better life in this world." Her voice was slightly hushed and detached, mumbling to herself. "And eight women to make happy." Again her gaze glanced from the twins to Frost before jabbing at him as they did, "I'm not going to join your pack just to be part of a harem."

Nadya sighed, "I apparently miss quite a bit." There was a lot about Frost's past she didn't know that was slowly coming to light and really didn't mind not knowing about most of it, she respected the details about the hunters commanding him to remain hidden. It just didn't help not knowing exactly who he was when it came to defending him against her brother. He had made that so very difficult with his apparent fight outside the Ark. If only her brother could see how Frost treated her and the twins and that the whole thing was a misunderstanding. Her thoughts drifted momentarily to the images on her phone of Frost and the twins and that very real look in his eyes.

Micah's soft fussing drew Nadya's attention back over. The cake was mauled rather thoroughly but both Izzy and Micah had ceased shoveling their faces. Micah's face was crinkled in threat to cry, perhaps feeling the onset of a stomach ache. Izzy looked completely fine though she was finger painting with the cake on the table. "We should get back home. Here, clean her off." Nadya pushed a stack of napkins over at Frost before she set to work wiping off Micah's hands and face with the napkins. Once Micah was clean she stood from the chair, tossing the soiled napkins, and strapping the toddler boy into the stroller. Nadya hesitated a moment before taking the discarded plush horse teeth toy from the stroller and shoving it into Frost firmly for him to take back. There was no anger in her action but simply determination. "I'm moving into the Ark in a few days. Aiden asked for a chance to show me that things can change. ...I owe him that much...he's my brother." Although her words spoke of finality, her eyes and tone wavered slightly.
