The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

Samantha's confidence that the man she'd claimed as her boyfriend owned no one seemed to be met with a skeptical look from the man that accompanied her. It was an effective gaze, one that shut her mind into a bit of a nervous loop, biting her lip. Briefly, her mind flickered to the way Raven followed his orders without a second thought or how she'd caught that bit of annoyance from him when she'd told him no. She knew he was an Alpha, and knew that meant something entirely significant, but as to what exactly that entailed, she was still unsure. She found herself gnawing on her lower lip â€" a habit she only broke out when her nerves got the better of her. It is his next words, in which the man utters the names of all the members of the pack she'd grown fond of, that cause the girl to let down her guard just slightly. "He's always been extremely kind to me." She said quietly.
Still, he had commanded her to stay in the Ark the night she was attacked, and had even mentioned that he preferred to her to sleep at the Ark rather than the tiny apartment she had. Though she merely attributed the last one to the uncomfortable situation that was sleeping on her futon. She did agree with him there that it was dreadfully uncomfortable. "I'm always careful," Samantha assured him, biting her lower lip once again. It seemed to be her insistence that Aiden was significant to the girl that caused him to apologize, a gesture that caused Samantha to shake her head. "You have no reason to apologize. I appreciate the concern, though I can assure you that it's not necessary. Aiden's amazing. But as someone who knows him well, I'm sure you already know that." The faerie girl hardly realizes that the dynamic between the two Weres was anything less than warm, just as she hardly realized that confirming her relationship with the Nightshade Alpha painted a large target on the girl for the man.
It's the flicker of amusement that causes Samantha's shoulders to completely relax, allowing herself to laugh in front of him. Unfortunately, the appearance of the other girl ruined the relaxing moment. She felt a flash of anger at her appearance, though it vanished so quickly that Samantha was sure it was her own emotion. The interaction was short, leaving her with a looming sense of anxiety from the presence of her coworker. For a moment, she merely stood with her fingers pinched on the bridge of her nose, forcing her emotions down to steady herself. It was only when Frost spoke - teasing her - that Samantha turned around. "So charming." Her voice remained sarcastic, though her normal enthusiasm was surely lacking.
He hardly gave her time to think before he was whisking himself in the door that the faerie girl had just retreated back in to. It was hardly the trick that enticed her, rather that she was determined to follow the Were into the building merely to insure that her business remained in tact. She paused when he paused, watching him kneel down to the ground. If it hadn't been for the finger at his lips, Samantha was sure she would have been demanding what he was doing. It seemed her questions were answered quickly as the faerie came around the corner, slipping on the floor where Frost had touched and going flying into a rack of costumes. The screaming that ensued covered the giggles that escaped the faerie girl, Samantha's hand flying to cover her mouth as she attempted to hide the laughter that plagued her.
It was his more serious tone that brought Samantha's attention back to the man, her posture shifting with discomfort as she listened to the man's question. "I didn't know that," Samantha replied, avoiding the question for just another moment. "I'm an empath, myself, but I didn't know that about temperature." The girl's curiosity was entirely genuine, her guard down completely towards the Were man she was growing to trust. "And to answer your question..." The girl's voice was entirely reluctant. "Yes. They're all awful," She gestured towards the group of girls attempting to help the woman Frost had just terrorized. "I don't like them. The faeries. They remind me of the girls who changed me. That's not something that I like to remember, and it... I still have nightmares, is all."
She was completely unaware that her admittance and willingness to trust him was what would give away one of her biggest weaknesses. Her fear of her own kind certainly could be exploited, though the naïve young woman would hardly expect the kind man she'd spent time with would be the one to do it.
