East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

Nadya Tetradore

Nadya relaxed once more, enough to at least rest without the fear of exploding from within. She offered only the barest of soft grunts to Sam's question about Aiden, Tobias, and herself living together before the Ark. It was her question about their past that drew more of her attention. Nadya had been so young when it had happened, hardly 5, so her memories of her childhood were splotchy. Only after being told she was adopted had she sought out a witch to have what memories they could reach brought back to her. As such they were worn with time. Aiden had been almost 10 then so knew with much more clarity of life before the destruction of their family.

"Our pack, our family...they were killed when we were little. We were separated the night it happened. Our experiences growing up are very different from each other." Nadya knew she had had a good childhood in that sense. She had grown up with two loving parents and two older siblings surrounded by a deeply bonded pack. She hadn't had anything bad happen to her, not even a broken bone or bullying. Of course she had seen the bad happen to other members of the pack. She had witnessed mothers losing their children, kids stuffed in lockers, or drawn on casts over the years. In comparison to what Aiden had endured it was picture perfect. But it wasn't Nadya's place to speak about his past to Sam either. Sam's question told Nadya that he hadn't already done so. "You'll have to ask him about his past. I grew up in a different pack; I have nothing to complain about or anything exciting to tell about living there. It would bore you really with how normal it was."

"If I stay...I lose out on...so much with the twins. If I go...I lose my brother...again. If only...if only there was a way so he'd be happy for it, to see that it could be real." Nadya shifted to sit up properly now which ceased Sam's touch on her skin. She could tell Aiden that Frost truly cared until she was blue in the face but she knew it wasn't her who would be able to convince him of that. She also had doubt Frost meant it and that he would make any effort to convince her brother of his intentions. So she decided to move on from the topic if only to avoid the difficult emotional dilemma that that string came with. "Why can't you go see your family? It's not like you're a vampire that will kill them. You're a fearie and supposed to be a Queen. You'd think they'd be proud of you for that." She tilted her head slightly in curiosity. From how Sam acted, Nadya would have a hard time believing that fae's parents were supernatural phobic.

Nadya shook her head from her internal disbelief and leaned back against the loveseat with a soft sigh. "I don't know what he does. I mean, I know...a little." She rolled a shoulder in a shrug. "He runs the Ark...there's fighting and gambling and drinking." Nadya slowly stood up and began to gather the pieces of glass from the desktop and tossing them into the trash. "I don't know the other stuff...there's...something...He buys and sells I'm sure. He keeps out of the burlesque...I don't ask him about everything he does." If it had directly affected her then she probably would have questioned her brother about the paperwork he seemed to loom over so grievously some nights. Nadya turned about to lean back against the table and look back at Sam. "Sorry...why don't you ask him?"
