The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

"I won't let anything hurt you."
Sebastian's words repeated themselves over and over inside Darien's thoughts as they walked back to his room. Small talk was exchanged, to keep the conversation between them alive and light, but inside his mind he was struck with that sentence. "I won't let anything hurt you." There was a smile on his lips, giddy and filled with anticipation of what was coming next. What was coming next? The unknown makes it even more exhilarating. This was mystifying. No, it was Sebastian that was mystifying. His every infliction, his voice, the way his lips looked each time he smiled or smirked. His eyes so blue, like the color of a Spring storm just as lightning struck. Seb managed to always appear coquettish and coy at the same time; it drove the Fae crazy, but in the best possible way. He brought a feeling of security that Darien was lacking. It was a feeling he didn't want to lose.
This was all so foreign and he feared it was only a fleeting chapter in his life. Just another conquest the vampire would soon forget, but something the fairy would look back on with fondness and longing. Life was short (at least for Darien) and it was making him restless. Even if this was just a fling, he wanted to exhaust all possible outcomes. He was use to being left behind once someone had grown bored of him, so to think Sebastian would do the same was habit.
They arrive at the motel, and it was empty. Even the man working the front desk was in the back, off doing whatever. It was quiet and lifeless, and Darien just leads the way. Walking through a maze of corridors to an elevator, which would then take them to the basement. Once the doors opened, Darien anxiously gives a coy smile, walking in and quickly hitting the button to the floor and leaning against the corner. His blue eyes conspicuously inspect Seb. From head to toe; admiring his every being. He remembers the night they met. The tension, the impetuous passion. The burning of too much alcohol and the swirl of newfound lust.He remembers the taste of blood and the feeling of the vampire lapping up his mess. How Darien felt so aroused by it. He felt shame about it then, but now he felt only desire. Even the screams of those men and thick atmosphere of fear that they gave off did not do anything to turn the Fae away or off.
He discovered buried sexual fixations he never knew he had. The more he remembers that night, the more aroused he became. The way Seb looked, closed inside this small metal box. Darien was overcome.
Then, just as the elevator stops and the doors open (and thankfully with it being late in the night and no one was there, let alone in the smoke-allowed rooms in the basement), the sound of the 'ding' was like the ring of a boxer's match. Every thought, the yearning and attraction. Instinct seemed to take control. Darien aggressively and quickly closes the space between them. He presses himself against Sebastian, one hand firmly grasping his neck and jawline as his fingers curled around the back of his head and into his hair. His other hand grabs his hip, pressing him closer. He doesn't even wait; he needed to feel the embrace, the feel of his lips on Seb's.
He's passionate and intense. Finding a coordinated rhythm, he can feel the softness of the vampire's lips on his. A spark inside him ignites and he's caught in this moment. Even when the elevator doors close, he doesn't notice. He's seized by this moment. Everything is heightened; he can smell a faint sweet smell, the coldness of the metal around them, the warmth of his hands on Sebastian. Playfully, he bites at the vampire's lower lips and pulls back to stare with fiery and deep longing into the vampire's eyes He doesn't pull away and keeps his hands right where he put them, but he wants to see his expression. An inviting and alluring smirk on his lips, his breathing heavy.
The way Sebastian made Darien feel ... he could climb mountains and slay dragons. He could do anything with this confidence he gave. Maybe the alcohol did add a little courage, but anything seemed possible.
He wasn't miserable. He was alive.
