There was nothing that she feared more than her own kind finding out that she had been given a rare gift â€" a gift to have children. That gift had been stripped from her kind eons ago and yet...she had somehow found a way to do the impossible. She hadn't asked for her pregnancy, although she wouldn't trade it for the world. She loved Troy...and she loved this baby. This baby was born from a love that she hadn't felt in a very long time. She didn't regret this baby's existence, she only feared for its life. What would happen if others found out that she was expecting? She would surely be captured and tortured if she had to guess.
So naturally, when Sebastian said that her secret was safe with him, she gave him a faint nod. She wished she could believe this stranger, but she knew nothing about him. How could he be trusted? Amelia was slow to trust and with a secret as large as the one she carried, it made it far harder for her to trust than ever before. Slowly, her eyes rose to look at Sebastian. "I will have a chat with Troy about keeping this a secret. Please have your boyfriend keep my secret." Her voice was soft, almost pleading. Normally she was not one to bed, but she would do anything at this point to ensure that she and her baby would survive.
She watched the awareness come to his features as he saw just what store she was in front of. The little boutique offered a variety of maternity clothes as well nursery furniture, baby clothes, and other baby essentials. She had hoped to come and have some items she had ordered to be delivered to her home instead of picked up here in the little shop. However, she could see that Sebastian was trying to be friendly and helpful and she was doing a piss poor job of allowing him. "If you wanted, I ordered some items. Do you think you could help me load my car?" There. She was trying. At least she wasn't completely turning him away. Normally she was quite the social butterfly. But lately, she was fiercely protective of her baby. Perhaps that was what motherhood was all about.
