Jack Hayes
Lay me gently in the cold dark earth
No grave can hold my body down
Jack had hardly had a tarot reading done before, the man far too interested in other things to take the time out of his day to do something so... mundane. The vampire couldn't admit that they weren't helpful and they weren't a hoax, he had seen many magical things in the world in the brief time he had been around. Still, he rather enjoyed the more scientific side of the world, every question had an answer and every magical item could be explained through science. Yet, he had time and was perhaps a little curious in the witch sitting next to him, the new city was intriguing, so much mystery wrapped around such a small place. He was certain he would find a great many answers while being here.
As Jack stands and approaches her, he can't help but release a small chuckle as she responds with a simple greeting. It was easy to discern she had a bit of sass to her, although, who could blame her? A man approaching a woman in a bar? Not the most original of things. As he takes a seat next to her, he gestures towards her box, asking about readings, the woman true to her lack of conversation as she answers bluntly. He is quick to offer her money or even drinks, as his fingers toy with the stem of his glass, it seems, it did not take the woman much at all before she agrees to him. Satisfaction flits across his features briefly as his own blue eyes turn downward, looking at that black box her fingers rest on. He watches with, perhaps, a bit of fascination as she spills those cards into her delicate hands, the man tearing his gaze away as he introduces himself.
His cool hand encompasses her warmth for a brief moment before she's pulling away to shuffle the deck, Jack sets his glass down to watch her as she introduces herself. His gaze flicks up towards her, his boyish and charming smile remaining on his lips, "A pleasure to meet you, Miss Dubois," he inclines his head in greeting just as she finishes shuffling the deck. As she presents the cards to him, her words remain blunt and he can't help but glance up at her, with brows raised slightly at her tone, though a simper remains on his lips as he reaches out and selects his five cards carefully. Holding them, he doesn't look at them as he watches the witch across from him, the woman almost oozing with annoyance that she had been bothered by him.
It was rather amusing for the vampire, though he hides such amusement as he watches her carefully, his gaze meeting her stormy hued eyes briefly, "Tell me, Miss Dubois, how long have you been doing this for?" He asks, his head tilting down and gesturing towards the deck of cards, "Is this how you make a living?" He asks, his question coated with curiosity before his gaze turns downward to the cards he's holding, giving her a brief moment to answer, "Here, what do I do now?" He asks, as he hands the cards back to her. It was one thing to hear about a tarot reading but to have one done was new to the vampire, the man unsure as what is expected of him now.
