The woman scolded him on how he treated Joe and Christian couldn't help but tilt his head a little and watch her for a moment before he replied with a small smirk. "I'm sure Joe enjoys my large bar tab and tips that he gets paid every night I'm around. I show my kindness, sweetheart. Don't you worry." His eyes glittered teasingly as he took another swig from his glass. He could tell there was more to this woman, much more. Of course, they weren't really on a basis that he could just ask about it or expect an answer even if he did. He was curious about her, though, no doubt. She had that mystery to her that captivated him. Yes, she had a rocking body as well, but a pretty face wouldn't do it for the warlock. No, he needed something to distract his mind from all the dark thoughts that always haunted him. When he asked about her being alone, he didn't expect her to say she came here to sing, looking for a record deal. One brow quirked as he took another swig. "Well, I guess there's worse places you could be. Now I've got to hear your voice, though. Make sure you're able to handle the spotlight." His eyes held a challenge in them. He'd seen her dance, but if she was serious about a record deal, she must have a good voice and he wanted to do more than imagine what kind of angelic voice would slip from those lips. ![]() |
