North

Within the Northern vicinity of the city, the wealthy gather behind meticulously trimmed hedges and high-class architecture. The pristine streets are paved with stone and the storefronts are brightly lit and inviting - for the right clientele. In the North, every establishment is eager to cater to the rich and the wealthy. Many such places are used to the sometimes peculiar requests of the otherworldly but here there is little that money cannot buy - whether it happens to be illegal or merely involves looking the other way. Vampires and Dark Hunters are often found upon these Northern streets, their long lives often contributing to their sizable wealth which allows them the luxuries that the North provides.

kissing death and loosing my breath
It took the young witch a while to find the vial she was looking for, her gaze shifting from her back to the handsome fellow in front of her as he spoke the syllables that made up her name. It was that single word on his lips that made her pause, momentarily, her head cocking to the side. Somehow, with his voice, he managed to make the simple word sound almost exotic. The notion was enough to bring a pink hue to her porcelain cheeks, a small simper dancing on her lips. "Thank you." She spoke in an almost humble nature - one that hardly ever made an appearance in the young woman's life. It was within only moments after that her fingertips brushed against the small vial she had been searching for, drawing it out of her bag and once again ignoring the tattered thing completely as she again focused her entire attention upon him. She popped the cork from the vial, letting the liquid touch her fingers just enough for the girl to reach forward and rub it into his skin, pleased, momentarily, with what she had done and her efforts to help on this 'get better' track.

She watched the grin cross his features as he admitted just what his chosen weakness happened to be and truthfully apart of the girl was surprised it was so mundane. She quickly caught herself from voicing such thoughts though, after all she hardly knew the man and nicotine was the most widely used and addictive thing. A part of her, perhaps, was searching for some adventure where there wasn't one. Not that she minded terribly either. In fact, the more Serafina thought about it the more she considered that maybe she did simply need someone who accepted her for who she was rather then needing her to entertain them with far off places and dangerous missions. See - maybe she did glean perspective after all. How about that Mr. Tarot card?

Her gaze remained intent upon him as he continued to speak, the corner of her lips falling ever so slightly as spoke. She didn't want to seem like one of those weird earthy types of people. In fact it wasn't the first time someone had told her that. "I'm not." She stated more firmly then she needed to be. "It's not the herbs that matter. I mean who give a shit if it has basil or sage or whatever. It's the magâ€"" She stopped herself abruptly, the word shifting into a long drawn out 'Uhhhh." She couldn't believe that she'd almost said the M word in front of a mortal - when she'd been trying her best to appear normal. For what seemed like a very long moment to Serafina, she stared at him blank, quickly trying to think of some word to finish off this sentence that even remotely sounded like....well anything. "Majoram? It's huh...an exotic asian spice that is extremely rare." The words rushed out of her lips unbidden, filled entirely with lies and Serafina knew it. Majoram was by far one of the most common things - used in salad dressings for crying out loud. Whatever attempt she had been trying to make to not be the crazy homeopathic girls just went entirely out of the window. "Look, just...try it okay. Don't worry about what's in it. I mean hell, it could be sugar water for all you know and if you believe it works then it could."

It was not a very good sale and Serafina knew it. It was perhaps for that reason that, with renewed interest, the girl did her best to shift the conversation to something far beyond the magic in her veins, the vials in her purse, and herbs she knew too much about. "There's a festival going on down town tonight. Did you know about that?" She spoke abruptly, her gaze shifting to the window. "Would you like to go with me?"
