I fight for any kind of control over my emotions at this point. I've never been one to act out so sharply, always capable of a steely nature when it comes to emotions, especially those of the heart. So why now am I acting like a frivolous teenager whose heart is breaking over a simple crush? Kohl is much more than a crush to me, that is true, but it is a truth I'm not willing to share just yet, especially not with him. And yet here I am flinging about in my anger over the fact that his power is making a stranger head over heels for him and he's not altogether stopping her from trying to de-cloth him. He seems to be getting more amusement from this situation than anything, really, but that only fuels my jealous infused fire. I don't mean to be snappy with him, it just happens because every time I look at him and that girl's hands on him, my skin feels like it's on fire. Luckily for me, while he could get mad right back over my unneccesary bashing, he keeps his cool instead, a slow sigh falling from his very kissable lips. I allow a small smirk on my lips at his jest about the plans for the night, my first step toward redemption for my unmodest behavior. "I believe your plans were pointed more towards taking me to your place and trying to seduce me, or get me drunk again. I can't say I'm not open to the second one at least." He seems to be more relaxed now that the girl is more covered by his jacket, straightening up some though I daresay he can barely do that with the girl still clinging to him. He does seem to lose some of his cool though when I keep up the biting words and the more I say, the more I'm regretting it. I scowl as he tries to explain, a part of me knowing that he has no reason to apologize and the other part wishing he had said more. I part my lips as if to respond but I find msyelf closing my mouth, not wanting to spit more words of wrath at him. Not when I'm already apologizing in my head. I watch as he directs the girl to the police station and departs from her, my voice a mere whisper as he returns, wanting to get it over with before I lose my nerve. His fingers are soft beneath my chin as he lifts it up, telling me it's fine as he leans forward to brush his lips against mine. I find myself leaning into the caress, eyes closing of their own volation as I kiss him back. I'd forgotten how nice his lips feel. He leans back and I do so almost reluctantly, my tongue flicking along my bottom lip softly, remembering the feel of his lips there fondly. I find myself shrugging. "It'll come with time." I don't know if I'm trying to assure him or myself. His next words bother me to a whole new degree, my weight shifting awkwardly as I try to put myself in his shoes. Sympathy flashes in my eyes as I think about how awful he must have felt, having to pry a child away from himself before he gets the law called on him or something. I shake my head, my voice soft. "We'll get it figured out, Kohl. I'll keep working with you on your powers. You'll learn how to control it." He changes the subject then and I tilt my head, my lips scowling once more. A Christmas tree? I chew my bottom lip as I contemplate. "Don't you know how expensive those things are?" |
