i've been chasing angels all my life
now heaven is on fire and the lions at my door
As she contemplated the building quietly Lenore took little notice of those going about their business around her. Only a few seemed to come in and out of The Witchery's doors but those that did looked incredibly well established just from first glance. Perhaps it was a well off bar, or high priced restaurant. In passing thoughts Lenore though that it would be a shame if it was. A building so unique in an area that seemed to be in the heart of the Northern side - no doubt a restaurant or bar - would do very well there, but there was a part of her that wished it could be a little more than that. Perhaps it was just a guilty pleasure of hers to find out that things weren't always what they seemed. So often she found this not to be the case, but there had been enough times of reward for those hopes to remain.
Startled a little by the strange inquiry directed her way, Lenore blinked a few times as she came back from the depths of her thoughts. She stared at The Witchery's doorway from her place on the sidewalk for a moment before finally turning towards the person who seemed to be asking her a question, perhaps in a different language. Those large honey-brown doe eyes of hers met his, wide and almost doll-like as she watched him, not with a frightened uncertainty but with a touch of confusion as she tried to figure out if he had indeed meant to speak to her or, perhaps, someone else passing by. A delicate hand came up to touch the nape of her fur shawl and Lenore hesitated momentarily. It was clear by the look on his face that she was the one he had been speaking to, but for the life of her Leo couldn't recall what exactly had been said. It had been a strange sounding word... something she was not entirely familiar with, which was odd, considering she spent a great amount of time with old books that were not of the English language.
"I'm... I'm sorry?" She questioned back, waiting for some sort of clarification if he was so inclined to offer it. There was not one ounce of her that seemed offended or put off by the random inquiry of a stranger, and after a moment she offered him the smallest of sweet smiles. Awkward situations didn't really affect Lenore the way they did most people. On the contrary, Lenore thrived a little better in them. Her hands laced together neatly in front of her and she gazed back up at The Witchery once more, her attention pulling back towards her previous thoughts right before the newest event, but only for a moment.
Her soft, innocent and absent-like gaze trailed back to the man in the well-pressed, expensive suit, and this time she offered a slightly larger smile with a flash of teeth and motioned subtly towards the building. "I was wondering...if you could tell me what sort of business 'The Witchery' is." Her voice remained light and curious, a hint of excitement at the prospect of finally receiving an answer in hopes that her expectations were exceeded. She paused a moment, a new thought occurring to her about this new acquaintance since he had just exited the premises.
"Do you happen to work there?"
but his teeth are red, so i sleep with the wolf in my bed
i know they crave the same thing in the end
