i used to rule the world

seas would rise when i gave the word

How fucking dare he! How dare Xerxes attempt to simply dispose of him in a fashion so utterly barbaric. He thought Alexander would lose hope in the face of these unmeasurable odds? That Alexander would succumb to those fangs? To the darkness? Or he thought that the King would return with his tail between his legs, his legacy destroyed, and himself finally bested? Even he couldn't be so foolish to fully believe that, could he? The naive, ignorant bastard. Alexander's fists clenched, his short fingernails digging into his palms in that rare gesture of overwhelming emotion. He would do far more than Xerxes had even thought possible. He would personally see to driving a stake through each of those hearts, he would behead each undead hellion and bring those craniums back just to shove them in Xerxes face for so daring to doubt his abilities. And when he saw that look of awe in the barbarous man's eyes, he would shove his blade through his opponent's heart too - to make him join the veritable plethora that would soon fall to his might. That scowl that crossed Alexander's lips was all too obvious as his thoughts, for perhaps the first time since their union as rider and steed, roared out of control.

It was Frost's voice that so drove through those more murderous desires that laced his every thought, pulling his attention back to there here and now and yet, he regarded his companion with little more than a small sniff as way of acknowledgement. Yes, his glory days. How he looked back upon them fondly and yet, Alexander was hardly one to be counted out just yet. There was still plenty of life within those old bones. It was with this determination that he so turned his attention back to the ivory steed at his side, so requesting what skills Frost might have held for their usage on tonight's precarious 'adventure'. His eyebrows remained furrowed as he so contemplated that which was held in his veritable arsenal, attempting to put together some measure of plan. He'd never before fought an army with such few numbers on his side - though he hardly thought it impossible. Heat, Will, Illusions combined with his own ability to understand the intricate details of those affinities in others, his capability to call weapons to his aid and his own strategic mind. It would have to make do.

Still, his head shook ever so slightly as Frost asked for his preference for the were's form. "No - remain as you are for now. We can utilize your hearing and I don't want to carry all of that through here." He waved vaguely at the saddle bags that still decorated Frost's sides. After all, if they were going to come back the way they came, they would still have a need for all of those supplies, especially if they were to bring others. However, unlike his companion, Alexander was hardly as amused of the near endless lifetime of the vampires they would soon face. These creatures were perhaps one of his least favorite of all supernatural kind. Their abilities put them at an advantage over the other races, making them faster, more difficult to kill, and vastly more dangerous than a mere were or witch. "They maybe old but do not doubt them." He uttered softly, more to himself then his companion at his side. Thankfully, it was Frost's next line of questioning that redirected the Dark Hunter's attention back to the conundrum at hand.

The Hunter nodded ever so slightly, "Yes, they might prove to be helpful, and if not, at least fodder." It was perhaps a cruel way to so regard life and yet, Alexander was used to such thoughts being so necessary in the art of war. He strove, as he often did, to ensure his men made it out alive, well, and in one piece but the King hardly had any delusions of the possibilities that might occur. "Come, let us find them." He muttered, his head reaching out to brush across Frost's hide as he moved away from the edge of the cavern, fully trusting in his companion to so lead the way. After all, in this, Frost's sense were far more heightened than his own. Alexander hadn't the faintest idea of where the humans might be located and the wavering smell Frost might catch upon was far better than the King's guessing. He reached out to the open air, letting a blade meld into existence into his hand. The sword's sharpened edges seemed to sparkle in the low light and yet, somehow, that simple presence of a weapon made Alexander far more prepared to fight what might be lurking in the bowels of that labyrinth of caves.
