Anacosta Heights
Dupont Circle
Hawethorn Village
River Dale
Situated above the daily life of the city, Anacosta Heights is a tucked away suburb featuring extravagant neo-gothic inspired mansions. The inhabitants of this neighborhood often show their overwhelming wealth with sports cars lining their long, circular driveways, large pools, and manicured gardens. The homeowners of Anacosta Heights treasure their privacy as seen by the high iron gates to the security personnel present at every entrance.
Dupont Circle is a small suburban neighborhood settled within the serene portion of the southern portion of town. These four-bedroom, single-family homes feature back yards, porches, garages, and far more breathing space then the Village offers. This neighborhood often is more family orientated and even has organized events for children and the neighborhood as a whole.
Settled in the middle of downtown, Hawthorn Village consists of several victorian inspired row houses just off the main street. Due to it's convenience to just about everything, the village can be a tad expensive to live within. However, the residents of this neighborhood often have two to three-story townhouses, often with a one to two-car garage. Many of the houses feature bay windows and/or rooftop terraces with a small fenced-in 'yard'.
River Dale primarily consists of apartments that, despite their age and industrial appearing interior, still hold to the Victorian history that permeates the town. These apartments are often the cheapest option and sport scuffed, older wooden floors, open floor plans, visible beams, and the occasional brick wall.
Sebastian Ellington
Cause i've been dancing with shadows
waiting till the morning after
Watching that old country home fade from their view had been altogether difficult for the Englishman. His heart ached as he watched the stone exterior disappear from view and yet, the more kilometers that existed between the man and his childhood home, the easier it was to simply push all that he'd left to the back of his mind. Such efforts were surely helped by the comforting presence of his boyfriend that remained at his side as that darkness stretched on before that vehicle. It was hours later that sleek car hit the outskirts of that brightly lit city, the metropolis was ever bustling, regardless of the hour and the streets surrounding those multitude of homes that Sebastian owned there were hardly any different. It was hardly a difficult choice where to so direct Charles to - after all, between the four estates he owned within the London city limits one was being rented out by a school, one the vampire refused to even take so much of a step within, and of the last two, it was far too easy to decide which his lover would find more exquisite. Lancaster House stood as glorious as she had once been in the heart of that thriving city, her doors too easily opened and any events put off for the arrival of the pair.
Lancaster was, perhaps, even more breathtaking then that country estate the pair had so come from, those numerous employees at their every beck and call. Every square inch was created with the epitome of luxury in mind and yet, it still hosted it's own fair share of modern conveniences. The sheer number of art that so lined those hallways was certainly astounding in it's own right and yet, despite such, the vampire was content to so coax his lover from that warm home and into the streets of London to see the numerous museums that each hosted their own glorious paintings, some of which were on loan from Sebastian's estate itself. He took his lover to the Royal Observatory, so introducing the King to those breath taking views of the stars and the planets above and to the Natural Museum to eye the colossal skeletons of the dinosaurs. He showed Dorian that clock tower his country was so known for and coaxed the fae into numerous cafes for tea and pubs for drinks. There was little doubt that London was exactly the sort of country that Sebastian so thrived within.
Tonight, however, was the last evening the pair would so spend in London and yet, Sebastian had every intention to so make good on that idle suggestion of ice skating he'd so presented the King on Christmas Eve. He'd made every point to ensure his lover was properly bundled before the pair even stepped from the warmth of that home, knowing well that Dorian would certainly need not only that warmth but too that padding in the inevitable falls that were sure to come. He scarcely voiced a word on what he had intended for their night, merely presenting his lover with that knowing smile as he led the man deeper into London. Finding that ice ring he so desired was hardly difficult, after all that large Ferris Wheel that so oversaw it could be seen from kilometers away, so looming in it's sheer size. For now, however, Sebastian hardly paid London's Eye any great attention, instead leading Dorian just a bit further on to that ring of stark white smooth ice. There were a few people skating on that surface and several more that lined the glass fence that surrounded the ring. He led Dorian towards that glass, allowing his lover to observe those people skating upon that surface.
"This is ice skating. Do you see that white ground over there? It's all ice, like the fountain, sort of. There is no water underneath it though." He informed the King, glancing over towards his lover. He knew well enough that this whole activity would be entirely foreign to the King and yet, this was still such a great part of a true London Christmas that it would be a sin to not experience it all the same. "We have to put on special shoes in order to walk on it like them though." He added, gesturing slightly towards those bladed skates the patrons all wore. At the very least, Sebastian was attempting to explain the activity before simply throwing his lover out onto that ice to, undoubtedly, fall. "Do you see how they walk Dorian? It's not really walking, you kind of...slide...sort of. You'll figure it out." His efforts to so explain that process of skating however, was hardly as through and yet, truly, it was best, he decided, for Dorian to simply experience it for himself. He allowed his lover several moments longer to so observe that very 'walking' that he so attempted to explain before his hand gingerly touched his Dorian's arm, coaxing him towards the nearest bench.
He set down those pairs of shoes he had brought from the house between them, so delicately taking off the plastic that protected those sharp silver blades. "Don't touch this part, it will hurt you." He commented softly, his finger hovering over that blade and yet, he himself refused to make contact with it. After all, if it was not for the composition of those blades, the sharpness itself was certainly enough to ward away his touch. Sebastian pulled off the plastic protector of Dorian's other skate, followed by his own and, for several moments, the vampire left the fae King to his own devices in so putting those shoes on. It was only after a moment that he rose, balancing carefully on that rubber mat material that surrounded the ring specially to protect those blades before they hit the ice. He held out his hand to his lover, a warm simper settled on his features as he did so. "You're going to have to balance when you get up okay? We won't move until you've got the hang of it." Patience was certainly a virtue for the vampire and this was something he was hardly willing to rush. Rather, Sebastian had every intention of being there every step of the way, exactly in the fashion the King had done for him when so coaxing him into the sunlight.
