Anacosta Heights
Dupont Circle
Hawethorn Village
River Dale
Situated above the daily life of the city, Anacosta Heights is a tucked away suburb featuring extravagant neo-gothic inspired mansions. The inhabitants of this neighborhood often show their overwhelming wealth with sports cars lining their long, circular driveways, large pools, and manicured gardens. The homeowners of Anacosta Heights treasure their privacy as seen by the high iron gates to the security personnel present at every entrance.
Dupont Circle is a small suburban neighborhood settled within the serene portion of the southern portion of town. These four-bedroom, single-family homes feature back yards, porches, garages, and far more breathing space then the Village offers. This neighborhood often is more family orientated and even has organized events for children and the neighborhood as a whole.
Settled in the middle of downtown, Hawthorn Village consists of several victorian inspired row houses just off the main street. Due to it's convenience to just about everything, the village can be a tad expensive to live within. However, the residents of this neighborhood often have two to three-story townhouses, often with a one to two-car garage. Many of the houses feature bay windows and/or rooftop terraces with a small fenced-in 'yard'.
River Dale primarily consists of apartments that, despite their age and industrial appearing interior, still hold to the Victorian history that permeates the town. These apartments are often the cheapest option and sport scuffed, older wooden floors, open floor plans, visible beams, and the occasional brick wall.
He felt like he'd been running on pure adrenaline for the past few days. His every thought was consumed by the spirited brunette with the smooth accent and the greenest eyes he'd ever seen. He couldn't stop thinking of her voice, her touch, her taste. He was an addict and she, his only salvation. He knew he would never forget the night when they went further than a simple kiss. He finally let down the last of his guards and let her in completely and he was so happy that he did. Nothing would ever compare to having her in his arms. It just felt so right, like it was where she belonged. He didn't want to let her go the next morning but he knew that she needed to get back to Townsend and he had work to do in the yard anyway. But she told him to take the next two days off an reluctantly, he agreed, knowing that she was probably doing it for his own good as much as her own. She needed time with Townsend, so he relented. The taste of those words on his lips would never leave him. He'd told her he loved her and he knew it was true in every bone of his body. She told him that she did too. It had stirred so many emotions in him to know that she felt the same way. It made everything that much sweeter. He didn't want their time together to ever end. He knew that she craved adventure and he only wanted to be there to enjoy it with her. He could only imagine the way the morning must have gone when she got back to Townsend. He wanted to hear all about it as he'd told her in one of his many texts he'd been sending her over the past two days. He couldn't just give up talking to her just because he couldn't come see her. He had to hear her voice, to know that she knew he was thinking of her. He knew if anyone could win Townsend over, it would be Adelaide but he also knew he'd have to win the man over in his own way too. He could only imagine Townsend's reaction to them having dinner together after all this. He must have been mortified. Taylor could only shake his head in wonder as he made some breakfast and tried to figure out what he could do for the day. It was hard to stay busy without having to go by the house to do yard work so he did some cleaning around the apartment, a little nervous to have her come back, even though she'd already seen it all before. Of course his mind couldn't stop being distracted by thoughts of her. He wondered if she was doing the same till he got his answer in a text. He smirked at the screen before typing back "Can't wait. Seeing you again is all I can think about." He knew she'd probably be at the bistro about now, helping out her crew. He made sure he had the right groceries in the fridgerator and started laying stuff out around five to make sure they'd thaw, his fingers thrumming on the counter with impatience as he looked at the clock again and again. As the time got closer, he started marinating the steaks and peeling the potatoes, watching the clock like a hawk as he got the pots ready and started cooking the potatoes and warming up the corn. Throwing some rolls in the oven, he waited till 7:50 to throw the steaks on the grill he had inside. When the knock came at the door, he automatically smiled and headed that way. When he opened the door however, he took in her ensemble and the backpack on her shoulder, his head tilting a little as a brow rose in curiosity. "Aren't you a little old to be running away from home? You're certainly welcome if you need a place to crash. I won't even make you pay rent, as long as you keep wearing outfits like that." Whistling in appreciation, he stepped aside to let her in, his lips twisting into a roguish grin. |
