Anacosta Heights
Dupont Circle
Hawethorn Village
River Dale
Situated above the daily life of the city, Anacosta Heights is a tucked away suburb featuring extravagant neo-gothic inspired mansions. The inhabitants of this neighborhood often show their overwhelming wealth with sports cars lining their long, circular driveways, large pools, and manicured gardens. The homeowners of Anacosta Heights treasure their privacy as seen by the high iron gates to the security personnel present at every entrance.
Dupont Circle is a small suburban neighborhood settled within the serene portion of the southern portion of town. These four-bedroom, single-family homes feature back yards, porches, garages, and far more breathing space then the Village offers. This neighborhood often is more family orientated and even has organized events for children and the neighborhood as a whole.
Settled in the middle of downtown, Hawthorn Village consists of several victorian inspired row houses just off the main street. Due to it's convenience to just about everything, the village can be a tad expensive to live within. However, the residents of this neighborhood often have two to three-story townhouses, often with a one to two-car garage. Many of the houses feature bay windows and/or rooftop terraces with a small fenced-in 'yard'.
River Dale primarily consists of apartments that, despite their age and industrial appearing interior, still hold to the Victorian history that permeates the town. These apartments are often the cheapest option and sport scuffed, older wooden floors, open floor plans, visible beams, and the occasional brick wall.
Over the years, Sterling had made particular efforts to be overwhelmingly forgiving of those indiscretions his boyfriend had a tendency to delve within. He had lost Henry to drugs on more than one occasion. He'd been cheated on, he'd nearly lost their relationship the one time he'd kissed a woman, he'd been mauled and yet, for all his efforts over the years, to find that Henry had fallen into the arms of another when he needed the man most prompted a stirring of emotions within him that he found himself incapable of ignoring. That closeness to his figure felt...overwhelmingly claustrophobic, that very need for space all but driving Sterling from Henry's arms as he tried to cope with what he was being told. He was well aware of that hurt that so plagued his chest, causing his heart to feel as if it was tightning in on himself as he demanded some sort of explanation. He watched as Henry sat up, the man's voice distinctly soft and quiet as he tried to offer some sort of justification - though it only caused his lips to part in clear disbelief.
He stood, finding that need for more space as he inquired just whom Henry had slept with. It hardly mattered, at that moment, the way the coldness of the air nipped at his naked flesh, the man instead merely crossing the wooden floors barefoot as he moved towards the window. He ran his hand through his hair, his blue eyes shifted back towards Henry at the audible sigh that left his boyfriend's lips, if Sterling could even call him that presently. His gaze remained steadfast upon Henry as Sterling leaned against the window sill, simply watching as Henry pulled the pillow from the head of his bed. How he hated that name that fell from Henry's lips, Sterling near effortlessly able to place it. Malia - the woman that they'd run into that one night after one of their few attempted date nights. He'd know something was going on between them, the girl a bit too...friendly to be a mere friend and yet he hadn't realized the extent of it. A scoff left Sterling's lips as he shook his head, his arms folding over his chest before that demand fell sharply from his lips. "How many times? When was the last time? Are you still sleeping with her?" Those answers were, admittedly, hardly going to make things better and yet, suddenly, Sterling found he needed to know.
