Sacrosanct contains four distinct neighborhoods, each with their own specific kind of houses and residents. Explore our districts, view lists of our citizens and enjoy our block parties!
Anacosta Heights
Dupont Circle
Hawethorn Village
River Dale
Situated above the daily life of the city, Anacosta Heights is a tucked away suburb featuring extravagant neo-gothic inspired mansions. The inhabitants of this neighborhood often show their overwhelming wealth with sports cars lining their long, circular driveways, large pools, and manicured gardens. The homeowners of Anacosta Heights treasure their privacy as seen by the high iron gates to the security personnel present at every entrance.
Dupont Circle is a small suburban neighborhood settled within the serene portion of the southern portion of town. These four-bedroom, single-family homes feature back yards, porches, garages, and far more breathing space then the Village offers. This neighborhood often is more family orientated and even has organized events for children and the neighborhood as a whole.
Settled in the middle of downtown, Hawthorn Village consists of several victorian inspired row houses just off the main street. Due to it's convenience to just about everything, the village can be a tad expensive to live within. However, the residents of this neighborhood often have two to three-story townhouses, often with a one to two-car garage. Many of the houses feature bay windows and/or rooftop terraces with a small fenced-in 'yard'.
River Dale primarily consists of apartments that, despite their age and industrial appearing interior, still hold to the Victorian history that permeates the town. These apartments are often the cheapest option and sport scuffed, older wooden floors, open floor plans, visible beams, and the occasional brick wall.
I know some things should just stay broken
i'm well aware this should remain unspoken
A soft breath left Sterling's lips as he leaned on the cool countertop of his kitchen counters, his eyes briefly fluttering closed as the boy bemoaned his life. With Sacrosanct's shut down and no declared end in sight, Sterling found himself out of a job - his entire industry grinding to a complete halt. How was he going to pay rent? How was he going to afford groceries? His limited savings account would only get him so far - maybe a month at best? His grip upon his arms tightened ever so slightly as the impending hopelessness of his situation so sharply pressed upon him. His gaze slowly shifted to the side, just enough to glance out the window and the setting sun and yet, the beauty of it was lost on him as he struggled to come up with some plan that didn't leave him destitute on the streets of the city. After all, it wasn't as if he had anyone he could turn to - no parents to go home to, nothing to fall back on. His thoughts were interrupted only by the soft sound of a door opening and briefly, he considered Henry's return from his own trip out into the world, even if the chef hardly moved from his position. He heard the door close gently behind him, that silence between the two men nothing if not incredibly awkward, the entire situation was enough to make Sterling want to crawl back into the warmth of his bed - as if that would solve anything.
It was the crinkling of the grocery bags that finally caused the bright blue of Sterling's gaze to shift towards his ex-boyfriend, though he too remained silent as he simply watched Henry put away the supplies that he'd purchased. At the very least, they'd be stocked for a while on the bare necessities - toilet paper being one of them. The last thing he expected, however, was Henry's offer to cook dinner. "Sure," Sterling muttered simply, shifting just enough to place his elbow on the counter and rest his cheek upon his palm. The bright blue of his gaze remained staring at the window panes near the end of the counter. He was silent for several moments before his lips parted, "My work shut down indefinitely." He informed Henry, "I'll have rent covered until the end of next month so you can stay until then if you need to." Sterling paused, certain that Henry would hardly need to be here long. After all, though his ex had lost his home...the Warlock was sure Henry had other beds he could warm, even despite his ex's insistence that he hadn't wanted to. A small frow crossed his features at his own internal thoughts before Sterling continued, at least attempting to push away his own self-pitying, "How did the DMV go?"
