Sterling's head bobbed as Henry suggested they pack up any mementos they wished to bring with them, his own gaze shifted towards the mantle place and those pictures his lover had been earlier eying. He'd almost forgotten they were there. Henry had always been more fond of cementing those sweet moments in photographs and frames then he was - though seeing them now made him almost glad for it. It was a reminder of all those times they'd spent together that didn't end in some disaster. But this time would be better. He was determined. Hell, he would be better this time. It was that notion upon his thoughts that caused his crystalline gaze to turn upwards towards his boyfriend, his name falling from his lips, followed afterwards by those three simple words - I love you. It wasn't often, really, that either of the two actually voiced that sentiment. After all, Henry had always been more physical in his display of emotions and Sterling had never pressed the issue prior to now. And yet, with him so removing that physical aspect from their relationship, it only seemed natural to voice that adoration he felt in anyway he could.
Sterling hardly expected that brush of Henry's lips across his own, his hand rose to press gingerly against the back of Henry's neck, so willing to deepen that once chaste kiss into something else entirely. There was no denying his ever present want for the man, his own efforts to remove that intimacy that had so ruined them before was perhaps as difficult for Sterling as it surely was for Henry. Still, that moment couldn't last forever and slowly he released his hold upon Henry as his lover pulled away from him. A small simper danced upon his features at the warm touch of Henry's breath against his ear. Those softly uttered words had a way of so producing butterflies in his chest and in that moment, there was exactly no other place he wanted to be more then with Henry's arms - even as the man pulled him further against his chest. Those words that left Henry's lips caused laughter to spill across his own, Sterling nodded ever so quickly in agreement, "He's an ass all the time." He added, knowing well what his head chef was like in the kitchen. "But...I guess...now that I know I actually have prior experience, maybe I can get a better job to be home more?" Sterling glanced upwards at Henry, as if looking for some reassurance that such was a thing the man would even want.
