The southern part of the city has a chic family-oriented sort of charm to it. Here, small locally owned shops run rampant, neighbors often know each other by name, and the monthly socials are an event not to be missed. In the South, children can often be seen safely playing in the park or on sidewalks and in the weekends, families often take to the beach to enjoy the warm waters surrounding the city.

Hyde Place takes up a large part of the Southern side of the city and includes a large playground, several fountains, and a small garden. The park is open from five in the morning till midnight though many shady characters may visit this place while it's technically "closed". The park has also been a venue for several concerts and hosts many holiday-related events. Under a full moon, witches are often seen here for the sacred ground beneath the iconic Weeping Beech.
The Point Defiance Zoo & Aquarium (PDZA) is an award-winning combined zoo and aquarium located within the Southern Part of Sacrosanct. Situated on 92 acres in Sacrosanct's Hyde Park, the zoo and aquarium are home to over 9,000 specimens representing 367 animal species. Beyond the city limits and over the bridge lies the deep, dark, and almost impenetrable forest. Often seen as a way to guard this magical city against the world that surrounds it, many are entirely ignorant of the evil that may creep between those tree trunks. Many were-creatures use the forest for the transformations of their newest members and some even take to hunting here. It isn't particularly peculiar for people to go missing within this forest but once you get through, the rest of the world awaits.

PhD in Plant Biology Abigail Hughes
Baby blue eyes watched in heartfelt appreciation as she admires the bond between master and puppy. The young woman had always been an admirer for such deep, profound connections made across two different spieces. There was something in the way that two being from worlds so vastly different could learn not only to communicate and express themselves to the other, but also in the same seamlessly beautiful moment begin to love so unconditionally that it could make a romance novel grow green with envy. She is taken back to that October day not too unlike this one that surrounded Beylani and the kind man with his young canine friend, back to Willowhaven and the local animal shelter there. She remembers how she had begged and pleaded with her mother for a pet of her own and at first she had felt so certain that a puppy would be the best thing in the entire world - next to horses of course which she had always loved and adored since she'd been a little girl with equine decor and figurine all throughout her room. Mother had declined to allow the blonde girl a puppy, suggesting that maybe she would find a fondness for a kitten and so the teenager had been swayed to at least look at the cat section of the shelter until she could properly say she didn't feel anything from the little felines. What she hadn't expected then was for bright blue eyes to stumble upon perhaps the smallest kitten in one of the corner cages. She was unclean and scrawny, likely having not been there for more than a few days and yet she had been the smallest of them all. Yet even in her petite size and neglected state, she had cried out while pacing along the front of the cage excitedly. The other kittens had clung to the back of their cages, none wishing to come and greet the girl who was eager to find a companion. And then, when Beylani came to that anxious kitten's door, she was greeted with such enthusiasm as the kitten purred and rubbed itself along the bars, looking up at her with those eyes of jade. Beylani had reached through the bars and the little tortoiseshell kitten and eagerly nuzzled her small head into the gentle palm of the blue eyed blonde. It had been in that single moment that Beylani has forgotten entirely about puppies and saw only this little kitten, something in her heart telling her that this little creature would be the best friend she could ever ask for. That day, a bond between Beylani and Chika was born.
Looking fondly at the way the man stroked the puppy and the joy at his master's touch the young thing clearly showed in those darke eyes so bright and intelligent reminded her so much of how she felt with her Chika, the young woman wonders of their. She wanted to know how they met, how it was that the past chapters in their lives have brought them here. His accented and old fashioned voice begins again, once again capturing her attention as he told her of the reason the pup was so well dressed and Beylani can't help the warmth that grows within those bright eyes and causes her smile to reach just a little farther. She was glad to have found another spirit who, like her, loved their companion beyond more than pets, but rather as family. His next sentence however is accompanied by a nod in the direction that causes her to turn her gaze away from him and towards the young man walking a small distance away, lost to the world as baggy clothes hardly seemed able to hang onto him without slipping off and falling to his ankles. There were some guys back in her hometown that dressed like the city-goer slowly moving further away from the pair that sat there upon the fountain. She nods her head in agreement with the kind and proper man's words, turning back to face him."I agree, it makes you wonder just what those clothes and his sense of self have to say about their wearer doesn't it?", she replies before looking back down to the still wiggling puppy with that sweet smile upon those blush-colored lips."Well, I'm sure that he will grow to be just as refined and confident as you and your fiancé surely are", she says brightly as her gaze rests lightly upon the man beside her. Of the fleeting moments she has taken to watch and listen to passer-bys walked past or ahead of her on the streets of the east side, none of them quite sounded like the stranger before her and she finds herself now wondering about the man behind those dark sunglasses and where it was that he found refuge in the concrete jungle. She struggled imagining countryside mansions with cornfields and pastures here, wide open spaces dotted with either horses meant from riding or livestock meant for slaughter or resources. It seemed very unlikely that such places existed here in Sacrosanct but in the same moment she also couldn't picture him against the backdrop of a twenty-four hour diner on the poorer side of this big city either. She found herself wanting to know more about him, this kind man without a name.
The man echos her thoughts of the breathtaking autumn landscape with its many bright colors, the way that the air is chilled and crisp yet clear here. It was like a tiny little piece of home for Beylani amidst all that was still very new and foreign to her. His gaze does not seem to falter from the young woman and she feels herself studying him in return. As baby blues trace along the jawline and dark brunette hair, she feels an odd familiarly flicker across her thoughts. It was almost like she'd seen him somewhere before and she unknowingly tilts her head as if to see him in a different light or at a different angle so her curious nature that seemed to match this man's would tell her if she really had seen his face somewhere before or if it was just in her imagination. Then again, did it even matter that she might or might not have seen his face somewhere? Seeing a person and getting to know them were two entirely different things, and often times it was seeing a face before getting to know its beholder that could get in the way and so she is quick to brush aside that faint familiarity, instead smiling back at him as she finds herself enjoying this chance meeting of two different souls. His interest seems captivated further when she makes mention that she is not from here and his lavish voice falls back into the space between them. When he reveals to her where it was he was from, she found herself ever more curious about this kind stranger. His pleasant accent now makes a little more sense to Beylani."Wow, you are quite a ways from home then. I've never been to Italy but I've seen pictures and it seems like an absolutely beautiful place", she speaks with a voice betraying her wonderment that, of all the thousands of people to call this city home, somehow found a being from another part of the world far away from where they both were now."I'm from Willowhaven. It's a rural town hours away from here. I was born and raised there", she pauses softly, her words having grown warm as she spoke lovingly of her hometown. She could never forget all the wide open spaces, the mountains that reached for the heavens in the farthest distance, the many ancient weeping willows that had given Willowhaven it's name."I moved here only just a couple days ago, deciding that while I love my hometown dearly, there truly isn't much more that I can find and discover there now. I wanted to feel things I've never felt before, see sights I could only have dreamt of seeing in Willowhaven. And meet new and interesting people much like yourself", explains the young woman with loose curls of blonde, her expression becoming almost shy at the last reason given on why she'd left her home.
Beylani's small change in demeanor quickly dissipates though, like morning dew beneath the warm light of morning as he offers to take her to this beautiful walking track and she gives him another bright and eager smile."I would like that very much", she answers, standing as he does after he has removed the exuberant young dog from his lap. How long had it been since last she had spent time with someone new and someone that seemed interested in what she loved; photography and beautiful landscapes. None of the friends she'd ever had back home had even seemed even remotely curious (or even supportive) of the hobby that took little time to become a passion of the young woman's. This man was different, the kindness and curiosity in his voice by far having surprised her when all she's experienced so far from others in Sacrosanct were distracted excuse mes or thank yous and yet no one ever seemed to give her a glance so like the few that Beylani and her afternoon company seem to have already exchanged in the short time they've talked with one another. And perhaps it was simply due to the blonde woman's ever warm and friendly nature or the simple possibility that human nature beckoned her to try and find some sort of common ground with this man walking beside her as they strolled down the path beneath the trees painted red, yellow, gold, and bronze, but she found herself enjoying his presence more and more. As they walk, she is so taken by the beauty of Hyde Park that she does not become aware of the curious look he gives her, lifting the nikon to her face as she snaps a few photos of a single maple tree atop a small hill to their right, finding that she loved how the sunlight broke through the canopy where there weren't any leaves to block it. Smiling as she lowers the camera to look back at the image captured, it is only then that she becomes keen on his gaze as baby blues turn to meet stormy grey eyes revealed from behind those dark glasses as they settled atop his head . Her own eyes reflect the curiosity that seems to glitter and gleam within his own features, a look she couldn't quite describe playing across his face. She hadn't been looked at in such a way before and she runs the slender fingers of her free hand through her loose curls, the right having a firm grip on the camera she treasured."Is there a leaf in my hair?", she asks although feeling nothing anywhere amidst the golden strands. It wouldn't surprise her if there really was something in her hair that earned her an unusual look.
He seems to return from whatever it was that seemed to render him silent for a few long moments as his gaze shifts to the path ahead of them, rich baritones now offering her a name for not only his four-legged companion but himself as well. Again there is a distant prick of familiarity that awoke in her earlier as she had studied his face. Dorian... Why was it that she feels so certain she'd heard or seen it somewhere? Still so new was the small-town woman that she had yet to devote her time or attention to the countless magazine stands or newspapers that were sold at Inner Sanctum, so again she pushes the odd sensation away and instead just offers him that bright and friendly smile."It's nice to meet you, Dorian. My name is Beylani, but you can call me Lani if you like", she replies radiantly a s she speaks her name accompanied by the nickname so many people called he left by. For some, it was easier than saying her full first name and she was perfectly content with this. Then, without the smallest hint of warning, his focus is captured by something and he freezes almost mid-stride and nearly making her jump a little with the sudden stop in their journey to the walking track and suddenly shock that coated his words. She turns to follow the direction of his gaze half expecting to see a snake or contraption that would be from a science fiction story made real. Instead, all she sees to the side of the path is a drinking fountain. It seemed to be nothing more than a block of rock and cement instead of something elegantly sculpted like the fountain now far behind them, but she had seen plenty of these back in Willowhaven. She watched curiously, attentively as her walking companion seems to give it a nearly suspicious and skeptical appraisal before tilting his head and turning back to her as he ushers his question with clear (yet strange) curiosity."I believe it's a drinking fountain. You know, for people to fill their water bottles or for kids to drink from after a hard day's play", she explains while moving to stand inches from the structure. She touches the cold steel of the faucet and pressed the bottom, a small stream of water erupting from it in an arch as it splashes and splatters against the stone bowl and down the drain. Were there truly so few in this big city that a sight that would be considered common in her hometown would be of such an unusual discovery? Didn't they have many of these on Italy? She stifles a giggle at his bright and unrestrained expression, if anything happy to see that she was not the only one who readily wore her feelings openly.
