Fear. It was an emotion that seemed to fuel her powers, even if she didn't realize it. It was fear that made them stronger. Fear that made her unable to control them. Fear had brought the tornado that killed Alex and it was fear that was bringing on the storm that surrounded her.
Eyes, frosted white while using her power, turned to look behind her, looking for the figure of the man that chased her. Heart beat fast, too fast for any normal person. Her beating heart pumped blood and adrenaline throughout her body, causing her not to feel fatigue despite the lactic acid leaking through her muscles from use.
She did not see the man that chased her, but that didn't mean he wasn't still running after her. The simple walk down the beach had taken a terrible turn as a strange man had come up upon her, placing his hands where they should not belong. He tried to over power her, but she had won. A swift knee to the groin had sent him to his knees giving her just enough time to break away from him. But he was soon on his feet, chasing her through the sand. She moved to the wet sand, something that didn't sink her feet back down into it. It was the only way she was able to propel her body forward with the hopes of outrunning him.
Lightning struck the sand, thunder cracking through the sky. The lightning was too close, the thunder too loud. It was happening again. She was calling a storm and she had no idea how to stop it's progression. Even as the rain and light hail began to fall, she couldn't make it stop. The wind picked up speed, whipping around her and slowing her down. It wasn't until she heard the whistle of a train that she looked out to sea. The waves of the beach were high and crashing wildly against the sand. But that wasn't where her eyes were drawn to. They were drawn to the water spout that was moving rapidly towards her.
She halted her run, her lungs desperately trying to find air. She was frozen in place...frozen in fear. The tornado raged forward, picking up water, sand, and fish as it moved towards land. Where was she to hide? She felt so alone and so exposed here on the beach. She was going to die. She was going to die from her abilities just as they had killed the one man she loved more than anything.
