His morning run had started far later than he had expected. He must have needed the sleep because by the time his eyes finally fluttered opened, it was well past eleven am. He had missed breakfast, yet again, and he was sure that it had been a delicious meal. With Raven so keen on feeding her pack, it came as to no surprise that she would offer him a stake in breakfast. He had never expected her to be so kind to him, family or otherwise. She did not appreciate some of his life choices, but he didn't care. At the time, he had thought them best. She disagreed. But they were family, they didn't have to agree all the time. And just like family, she still made him breakfast even if she hated how he was handing the situation with his boyfriend.
But, now that he had missed breakfast, none of that mattered. Henry rose from his bed in his modest accommodations in The Ark and put on a pair of running shorts, some sneakers, and his watch. He swiftly moved from the Ark to the docks and began his run.
Lately, he had found running to relieve some of his tension. Maybe it was the panther in him that preferred the exercise, as if it also seemed to wear the cat out in addition to Henry's human body. Henry didn't mind when his panther was silent, it offered him time to think and act as he normally would...before all of this began. Despite his life having taken a drastic left turn, he was trying his best to steer his course more right. While he might be failing miserably to the outside world, at least he felt as though he was making some progress.
By the time his body could no longer run anymore, he found himself in Hyde Park. He had so many memories of this beautiful area of Sacrosanct. This was where he had met Sterling...where his love for the witch had blossomed into something he couldn't control. He had many fond memories of this place.
And yet...thoughts of Sterling made him frown softly.
He really needed to sit down with Sterling and have a discussion about Malia â€" about what happened when he thought his lover was dead. He also really needed to fess up for what happened with Malia when he felt as thought he was failing Sterling as a boyfriend. It was a conversation he had been dreading. Perhaps that was why he was so distracted lately â€" he didn't want to bring up that topic.
He sighed as he slowed his pace, wishing his had his iPod so he could drown out his thoughts with music. But Henry had forgotten that in his bedroom so his thoughts would simply rum rampant today. He saw a man on a bench and figured he probably could use the rest. He jogged his way up to the young man and offered him a soft smile. "Do you mind if I sit a while?" His shirtless body was thick with sweat, the afternoon heat already smoldering. Damn he needed to get into better shape.
