The southern part of the city has a chic family-oriented sort of charm to it. Here, small locally owned shops run rampant, neighbors often know each other by name, and the monthly socials are an event not to be missed. In the South, children can often be seen safely playing in the park or on sidewalks and in the weekends, families often take to the beach to enjoy the warm waters surrounding the city.

Beyond the city limits and over the bridge lies the deep, dark, and almost impenetrable forest. Often seen as a way to guard this magical city against the world that surrounds it, many are entirely ignorant of the evil that may creep between those tree trunks. Many were-creatures use the forest for the transformations of their newest members and some even take to hunting here. It isn't particularly peculiar for people to go missing within this forest but once you get through, the rest of the world awaits.

Summer was a strikingly profitable time of the year for the witch. The forest was abundant with those herbs she required for both her shop and her own magical work. Lavender, lemon balm, burdock, all of it lay at her fingertips, just ready for the taking. Her bag was filling quickly with those herbs, though it would take her several hours to wash and ready them for their weak long drying in her kitchen. Her hands were quickly at work at a bundle of cloves at her feet, the girl settled on her knees as she carefully picked those that looked freshest from that near carpet that surrounded her. It was the crunching sound of boots on the leaves and branches underfoot that caused her gaze to turn upward, the young witch paused in mid-motion as the sudden fit figure of a familiar man moved through those trees at some distance away. It was clear that he hadn't seen her as he shifted further towards the undergrowth where the going was laborious and....well....irritating to be frank. Her lips pressed together as she watched her turn his back on her, that annoyance certainly rising within her. For all their shared history, for all those feelings he claimed to have, Brennan had shown up in her life only to disappear all over again at the very idea of another man where he used to be in her life. For all that love, Brennan certainly had turned tail quickly.
She slowly rose her eyes narrowed and though Serafina usually had an unattached demeanor towards the world, this time she found herself carefully picking her way after him. She had half a mind to strongly chide him for his blatant aversion to her and yet, that clear purpose within his step made the young woman....inquisitive. Where could he possibly be going through the deep umbrage of the forest so early in the afternoon? Brennan hardly seemed like the sort to simply enjoy his mellow existence surrounded by trees and ivy and bushes and all this other annoying shit that clawed at her jeans. Serafina paused, pinching at the bring of her nose before a soft breath left her lips. Her emotions were getting the best of her, though Brennan had a way of provoking those feelings raging through her icicle veins. That moment of stillness afforded the Warlock only more distance between them and yet, Serafina could still make out the occasional glimpse of his masculine figure through those tall, imposing trees.
Her trail was picked with far more care as she slowly made her way towards the man, conveniently avoiding the fallen branches in her unintentionally stealthy stalking. It was only once her foot stepped on a poorly placed branch that Brennan seemed to pause, that snap of the wood almost echoing in that quietness. Speaking of quietness....it was weirdly quiet. The forest was somehow void of the usual chattering of the animals that made their home there. The skies were empty of birds. It was almost....eerie. That shout on Brennan's lips drew her attention away from her thoughts, the young woman easily navigating around that tree trunk that stood between them, blocking his view of her.
