It had been some time... A long time, since anyone that knew Donovan had seen, heard from, or even spoke with him.
Donovan managed to stay off the radar for so long, still doing honest, under the table work for Kat; The Dark Hunter who was a Council member.
Funny that a Dark Hunter and Were, would be in good standing with one another.
Donovan never did care much for the politics, all he cared about was keeping himself alive, fed, and with money in his pockets.
So what had the tattooed Were been doing besides working? He traveled. Never getting a chance to met a pack at all, Donovan took to wondering as a "Lonesome Drifter". At least that is what he called it. Lazarus and Ellie must of been worried sick, since when they saw him come back through the doors of their residence once again, they were happy to see him.
Well, Lazarus did punch him in the face, but it was well deserved. Ellie was just happy regardless, because that's the type of person she was.
Donovan was able to even see Kat again, face to face, vice over letters and checks being sent through the mail.
She seemed to not have changed much in Donovan's eyes, but one thing he see, was a shine in her eyes.
She seemed happy to see he was alive.
After getting much needed rest, and not doing a damn thing over the past few days, Donovan finally got up and went outside.
Dressed in a red button up shirt, and a leather jacket colored red, with deep grey jeans and black boots, Donovan quietly exited the house, and began doing what he had done best; Wonder.
His hair had grown a little since he was last seen in public. Much more hair atop his head, instead of that buzz cut he had always rocked. He did still have that ever so well groomed beard.
And his tattoos were as vibrant as ever. Like they had just been freshly tattooed. Truth be told, he had been getting touch ups on the down-low on his travels. Because he was proud of all his markings, plus it was the only other way he could show of his "spots" in human form.
He chuckled at that; Tattoos really were just the human races way of matching the animals natural markings.
Yeah, some people viewed them a act of sin, but did Donovan care? Nope. Not if they really knew the truth that is.
Donovan didn't have a set destination in mind. He was just walking, and enjoying the crisp smell of the Early Autumn air. Trees had just barely started to change color, and the birds all seemed to be a doing their annual preparations for the next coming season.
And people were all bustling about, wearing their Fall clothes, or running to get their "PSL" that they seemed to desperately crave.
The male never did see that fascination that some people had for Fall, when it came to that nasty drink.
But, he didn't care. Why? It didn't affect him in the slightest, plus he wasn't one to judge, no matter how odd it was.
Eventually, he found himself in the Southern end of town, at the park; A good place to be right?
This was where you'd go on a day you wanted to just be in your thoughts, or meet new faces right?
Guess he'd find out soon enough, it would seem.
At least it wasn't like that time he ran into Kat in the Western side, trying to mug some dude, then being talked out of it. That old sting to his pride from that day, had long disappeared. He was proud that he was able to really overcome such a thing.
Donovan was a proud person, in himself and everything he did. No matter how society viewed it to be wrong or immoral.
Pfft, as if he had time to listen to the harsh judgement of critics and dumb ass people, who didn't know their head from their ass.
Donovan strolled through the park, with his hands in his pants pockets, just walking around aimlessly.
His phone started going off, and he quickly pulled it out to decline the phone call.
Just as he put his phone away, he noticed he was by the fountain... And also heading for a young girl just reading a book and minding her own.
Donovan was seconds from hitting her leg, but he caught himself just in time, to make his boots make a skidding noise on the ground.
To the Were's surprise, she was a Fae. So young too. In a way, she sorta reminded Donovan of himself at a young age; Going through High School as a Were... Man, he didn't miss those days.
"So sorry! I almost knocked you into the water!"
Donovan said apologetically, and kindly as he could to the young Fae, who seemed a tad startled at the presence of Donovan; Guess the rough and tough exterior didn't help.
