South

The southern part of the city has a chic family-oriented sort of charm to it. Here, small locally owned shops run rampant, neighbors often know each other by name, and the monthly socials are an event not to be missed. In the South, children can often be seen safely playing in the park or on sidewalks and in the weekends, families often take to the beach to enjoy the warm waters surrounding the city.

That Sebastian had brought her to the beach due to the utter lack of people would have never occured to the little vampire. All that she knew was her Sebastian had agreed to spend time with her tonight. The swollen moon hung low in the sky, providing plenty of light to see by even though their species didn't require such aid. It painted the most beautiful reflection across the water. The wet compact sand slapped beneath her feet as she ran down the waters edge, the dark water slipping up with each ebb and flow of the waves to encircle her feet. She had stripped off her socks and shoes some time ago to feel the sand beneath her. One of the best benefits about being dead was the fact that the ice water didn't affect her. She was able to play without a worry for freezing to death.

Her peals of laughter floated on the light breeze, running in a circle around Sebastian before skipping ahead to stoop over the sand. Her small fingers clawed at the wet sand, mimicking the floppy brindle pup who was either just as entranced at the sand or thought there was something buried there. The moment the edge of that water lapped up at the pup's feet though he was quick to leap back to the drier patch. "I win!" Anna exclaimed, giggling as the water came up then sunk her feet slightly as it pulled back out into sea, not at all phased by the hem of her dress soaking up the salty liquid. Although they weren't felines, her interest in the dogs hadn't gone unnoticed so were brought along for the journey tonight. If anything it meant she had an extra body to run around with leaving Sebastian free for a more leisurely pace.

Anna hurried after the pup, taping its rump to signal 'tag' before taking off. The pup didn't need any instruction, the game of chase readily accepted as he bounded off after the girl. Their energy levels were well matched for tonight. "Come on Sebastian! Last one's rotten egg!" She clamoured up that sand dune which would lead to the best vantage point over the shoreline.

It was that peculiar long grass that sprouted along the top that had obscured the woman from Anna's view. It wasn't until it was too late that both child and pup near barreled over the woman. Even with the grace of her species, running into someone still unbalanced her and sent her sprawling to her hands and knees. The pup was much easier to recover and flopped beside his fallen comrade as she twisted about to seat on her rear and take a look at what she had just run into. The light of the moon chased away all the shadows from this side of the sand dune, clearing lighting the woman. Her own sapphire hued eyes met those that were like dense mist. All at once it wasn't moonlight that haloed that gaze but fire engulfing it. That flash of memory, that ghosting grip of pain that came with it, clutched at the petite vampire in that moment. Anna's hands clasped quickly over her ears as she clenched her eyes shut with a shriek of a scream passing her lips.
