The moment between mother and son was a precious one. Nadya couldn't even imagine being separated from her children, no matter their age, and especially in the circumstances Frost had fled under. It felt wrong to be witness to it, to see that strain on Frost's usually controlled facade. Nadya's gaze averted automatically to give the pair privacy until their attention was on her. Nadya offered a small smile and held out her hand with no other idea on how to greet his mother. Perhaps she should have asked on the way what was the acceptable method here.
Nadya was given a bit of uncomfortable pause as the woman and Frost suddenly engaged in what only looked like an argument. Had she already upset his mother?! Dread tugged at her stomach making her feel like she may be queasy. She wasn't from here, that had to be it, his mother wanted someone from the herd for her son. Those racing thoughts in her head halted when Katrin suddenly took her hand and it wasn't in anger. She really needed to learn more Icelandic. That fear which had begun to tense up her form dissipated as Katrin explained the reason for their argument. "Oh." Nadya glanced from mother to Frost. Mate? Is that what he had called her? That was certainly further than girlfriend. Though there was that voice in her head that chastised her for being so surprised seeing as they had just been discussing children.
The hug was unanticipated but wholly welcome as a good sign. Nadya smirked at Katrin's compliment. Out of his league huh? "He's not so bad himself. He's an alpha now...a good leader and protector." And they fit together like puzzle pieces but that one wasn't going to be shared with his mother. "Oh, uhm..." Nadya was caught off guard as Katrin investigated her hair and asked after children. That wasn't exactly the first set of questions someone asked. "My hair's dark, almost like yours." She was saved from the unsurity of how to answer the child question by Frost stepping in for that one. Frost seemed confident in his response, showing no hesitation that would make Nadya believe it would be a bad thing to his mother to have children that weren't his.
Nadya nodded slightly, Katrin seemed just fine with the information and even interested in seeing pictures. She'd never go anywhere without having one to look back on to get her through her separation from them. "They'll be 4 in a few months, Micah and Isabella." She stepped away to retrieve her phone when a bell stopped her in her tracks. Nadya shifted back to Frost's side, her phone completely forgotten hidden at the bottom of their pack. She wasn't sure if she could eat anything with her nerves as they were but she nodded nonetheless. If it was what Frost thought was best right now then she would do it.
Nadya kept close to Frost's side as they left Gaeska's house. "Does this mean I can call you Rikarour around the others here?" She had dropped her voice for only his ears. It was odd to hear his true name on the lips of others as it only left hers during their more...intimate moments due to his request of having it kept between them. Those moments of solitude from the rest of the pack and the twins decidedly rare and thus made the most of. Nadya turned her attention to the rest of the people who they joined milling into the large dining hall.
It was hard being in a new environment and not being able to fully stop and take it all in but Nadya did well letting her gaze not linger on any one thing for very long. She followed the throng as was instructed through to the line that handed out the food. Nadya had to do a double take when she saw what was in the bowl that she was handed. There was no time to ponder its contents as the push of the line kept her moving in Frost's trail to one of the long tables. "...This...isn't oatmeal." She whispered to him as they sat down. It looked like something she had given the twins when they were just learning to eat solids. It made her feel like apologizing to them. Nadya poked at it slightly with her spoon before braving putting a bite into her mouth. Yes, she definitely needed to apologize to the twins. Oh how much control it took to not just swallow it but keep her face as placid as possible for any possible hunter eyes. Nadya managed to force down a few more bites to reassure their cover but a pointed look was quickly thrown in Frost's direction. Oh he owed her. "I think I had too much to eat earlier." Nadya carefully pushed the offending bowl away from her, unable to bare it any longer.
