South

The southern part of the city has a chic family-oriented sort of charm to it. Here, small locally owned shops run rampant, neighbors often know each other by name, and the monthly socials are an event not to be missed. In the South, children can often be seen safely playing in the park or on sidewalks and in the weekends, families often take to the beach to enjoy the warm waters surrounding the city.

Ascension Center of Equitation

The Ascension Center of Equitation is the epicenter of the Dark Hunter Cavalry Unit. Originally a high-class facility for show-jumping, Ascension now caters entirely to the Cavalry Unit. Here the Dark Hunters learn how to ride and fight upon the backs of horses - many of which are Were's themselves.

Hyde Park

Hyde Place takes up a large part of the Southern side of the city and includes a large playground, several fountains, and a small garden. The park is open from five in the morning till midnight though many shady characters may visit this place while it's technically "closed". The park has also been a venue for several concerts and hosts many holiday-related events. Under a full moon, witches are often seen here for the sacred ground beneath the iconic Weeping Beech.

Point Defiance Zoo and Aquarium

The Point Defiance Zoo & Aquarium (PDZA) is an award-winning combined zoo and aquarium located within the Southern Part of Sacrosanct. Situated on 92 acres in Sacrosanct's Hyde Park, the zoo and aquarium are home to over 9,000 specimens representing 367 animal species. Point Defiance is also widely known for its conversation efforts regarding the breed and release program of Red Wolves.

The Outskirts

Beyond the city limits and over the bridge lies the deep, dark, and almost impenetrable forest. Often seen as a way to guard this magical city against the world that surrounds it, many are entirely ignorant of the evil that may creep between those tree trunks. Many were-creatures use the forest for the transformations of their newest members and some even take to hunting here. It isn't particularly peculiar for people to go missing within this forest but once you get through, the rest of the world awaits.

He liked to hang around the park at night. He couldn't put his finger on it really but it was so peaceful and quiet, he couldn't help but feel drawn to it. Usually he just sat on the bench and looked around, soaked it all in. Adele thought he was just craving time out of the house, time to be in civilization again and maybe she was right. He'd spent centuries in solitude, doing his best to avoid humanity and everything that went along with it. He'd probably still be doing that if he hadn't lost his precious Julia to some worthless Hunter just trying to send a message. And he got it loud of clear. Now he was on the hunt and he wouldn't stop until he'd drained that Hunter of every last drop. He had never wanted to be a Maker. He knew the love he felt for his own, Godric, would never be replaced and he didn't want to share that with anyone else. He'd never meant to make an attachment to anyone but when he met Julia, she was a hooker.

She was confident and sexy, everything you'd want in a lover, but it all hid a deep sadness inside of her. She wanted more out of life and she didn't know how to get out. Erik found a heart somehow and wanted to help her. He tried to easy route first, vowing to kill anyone who dared threaten her or harm her, but she wanted more. She found out what he was and she wanted him to turn her. When he kept turning her down, she slit her own wrists. Erik found her barely in time. She was almost drained, though she still smiled at him when he fell to his knees at her side. He couldn't just let her die so he did the unthinkable and gave her his blood. When she turned, they were inseparable. For 400 years, they roamed the world together. She was his best friend, his confidante, and she was a natural as a vampire. She didn't want to kill everyone she fed from. She only killed the ones who deserved it: the rapists, the murderers, molestors, men who beat their wives. You name a crime against women and she was their own personal vigilante.

He never thought when he left her in charge of his bar that something like this would happen. She was a natural in business too. Within five years, she had the bar he'd started from scratch booming with repeat customers every night of the week. He left it in her capable hands, vowing to visit once he got settled somewhere when really all he wanted to do was bury himself back into the wilderness for a while and clear his head. He was still a nomad in his own mind. He needed a breather every so often to get away from civilization and just enjoy the outdoors. But he felt the string cut one night while he was resting and crying out in anguish, he made his way back to New Orleans, only to find his worst nightmares confirmed. Julia was dead. A Hunter had killed her and left her for him to find, complete with a little note written in her blood. Erik knew he would never rest until he found the Hunter with the initials K.P. and make them pay.

He brushed the dangerous thought away though as he glanced down at the newspaper in his hands. The light above the bench barely gave off enough light but he had the best night vision with which to read by so that didn't matter. But he was no longer alone. He glanced up, only to see someone walking down the path. She seemed to be taking her time. He would have thought her an ignorant human so unaware of the dangers of night but then he caught her scent and his gaze narrowed as he looked back down at his paper. A Hunter. He knew they weren't all bad, but it still left a bitter taste in his mouth every time he smelled one cause he knew one of them had taken Julia from him. He needed to question more of them, to find someone with those initials, but not tonight. Tonight, he would let her pass. Or at least that's what he planned on letting happen.

She hadn't even reached them yet and a voice from somewhere behind him spoke. "Come here, often, big boy?" A hand came down on his shoulder and as he snapped his gaze around, all he saw was shadow before the other hand stabbed a stake right into his shoulder, just inches from his heart. He yelled in anguish, jumping from the bench as he yanked the stake from his shoulder, tossing it across the ground. The Hunter materialized from the dark itself, sneering as he gripped another stake and some kind of magical dagger was in his other hand now. "That's right, blood sucker. No prey for you tonight, just little ol' me." Erik curled his lips back, knowing his fangs were showing as he glanced between the man and the woman who was still walking down the path toward them. She'd see them at any moment. Was she in on it? It would probably be two to one soon.
