The southern part of the city has a chic family-oriented sort of charm to it. Here, small locally owned shops run rampant, neighbors often know each other by name, and the monthly socials are an event not to be missed. In the South, children can often be seen safely playing in the park or on sidewalks and in the weekends, families often take to the beach to enjoy the warm waters surrounding the city.

The Ascension Center of Equitation is the epicenter of the Dark Hunter Cavalry Unit. Originally a high-class facility for show-jumping, Ascension now caters entirely to the Cavalry Unit. Here the Dark Hunters learn how to ride and fight upon the backs of horses - many of which are Were's themselves.

Beyond the city limits and over the bridge lies the deep, dark, and almost impenetrable forest. Often seen as a way to guard this magical city against the world that surrounds it, many are entirely ignorant of the evil that may creep between those tree trunks. Many were-creatures use the forest for the transformations of their newest members and some even take to hunting here. It isn't particularly peculiar for people to go missing within this forest but once you get through, the rest of the world awaits.
The University of Sacrosanct offers some of the top programs in the nation with its outstanding campus and specialized faculty. The University places a high focus both upon educating future generations but also on research to help revolutionize the world. The University welcomes the talent of students across the world to enroll and unlock their unlimited potential. With applications from across the nation, classes fill up quickly.

Nadya's insistence at remaining together would have been no surprise, and her nature should have also assured Frost that once she dug in about something there would be little luck in changing her mind. Separating was one such topic she would not be persuaded over. It was with relative silence after breakfast that she waited for Frost's decision that it was time to set the plan in motion. She easily followed the pace he set leading them back into that central area, informing each Hunter they passed of that new party. There were only a few that she let her pheromone ability lace about, just enough to ensure their intrigue in what she had to say. Deeper and deeper they went until they reached those front gates to give her order for urgent leave later. It was a small window of time indeed, everything would have to coordinate perfectly to make sure the herd didn't arrive too early or too late.
Although Nadya was grateful to be back in that cottage and away from Hunter's gaze, she was tense and restless with having to wait out the entire day. She stood at that front window watching that sun set as the snow began to fall again. If it wasn't for the impending event she would have been able to truly enjoy the beauty of it. Instead...it was time to go. Once more upon Frost's back they moved to the gate enclosing the mares and foals which of their first obstacle. Frost immobilized the guard easily enough, the only one there which meant their distraction of another party had worked, and though while it was a bit awkward she managed to use the horse as a lift up to the control tower. You would think the controls within would be self explanatory but there were so many buttons and levers she was afraid of pushing the wrong thing and setting off an alarm. That alone was already racing her heart but eventually got those gates open.
It was quite the sight to see, the vast size of the herd that stood at the ready to barrel through in hopes of reaching the outside world. The question was who would be the ones that would never get there for surely this wouldn't go as successfully as all of them getting out. Frost's gentle voice within her mind that broke those thoughts and refocused her to the task ahead. All she had to do was hold on. Frost's gate was even at first but built quickly built of speed as those behind followed suit. She was sure if she was on the ground it would have felt like an earthquake with the power of the herd pounding through the snow.
"I need to be closer." Nadya's attempt to focus her energy on that gate was barely above a tremble on those doors before the sound of a gun rang out causing her to startle and duck. Wide eyes turned backwards to see the mayhem unfolding. They were like an explosion of ants, the Hunters spreading out in pursuit against the rogue herd. Nadya inhaled sharply at the sudden veer Frost took, her grip within his mane and against his sides tightening incredibly in attempt to stay upright. "The gate...!" She hadn't time to try to tell where Frost was detouring them before a rider came out of nowhere with his mount slamming into Frost's side. Even though the Hunter was trying to grab at her, it was Frost Nadya was focused on and the fact that the Hunter's mount was biting at her mate's shoulder. She knew very well that was his blind side. That anger boiled within her and she dared lift a hand from Frost's mane and swing a punch out at the Hunter before kicking out at the offending horse's neck. The Hunter was surprised at the land of her punch to his face but came back twice as fierce, perhaps angered more by being punched by a woman.
There wasn't going to be a way to get the Hunter off of them before reaching the gate. She still needed to stop it from closing. It happened all so fast as she made the decision and simply leapt off of Frost's back at the Hunter, sending them both toppling to the ground as she let the fire of the shift rush through her veins. This form was much faster than her human one. Teeth and claws shredded at the Hunter before she took off quickly in the direction of the gate alongside the stampeding herd. Her wide paws allowed her to move more easily over the snow in a manner similar to snowshoes. All she needed was a few yards. A slice of pain to her hip as a bullet grazed her caused her to falter slightly. Quickly she sent that energy coiled and directed at those hinges as the door had begun to shut. The metal shuddered to a stop as pieces of the hinges went flying in every direction. The herd would have to go two-by-two now at the space left but it was better than nothing.
Nadya turned about, ready to rejoin Frost, when she saw a Hunter successfully rope a foal. The wrench of the rope caught its neck, swinging the poor young backwards to the ground and in that moment Nadya caught a glimpse of very familiar violet eyes. Frejya. One of his children would be just as important to her and he cared for hers. Barely a glance was given over her shoulder in Frost's direction. "Go." It would be back to his original plan of them separating after all. The herd would need him to lead them as far out as he could. Nadya took off, away from the gates and back to the town where the fallen foal was struggling and mother fought with other Hunters. The agility and grace of her species saw her easily scale up a haphazard pile of barrels that allowed her to boost up onto the rooftops. The highground was where her species was most comfortable. Rooftop to rooftop she leapt until she came upon the housing that loomed above the offending Hunter. It hardly took a moment to register that it was the same Hunter who had attempted to flirt with her the previous day. Oh what karma he had. The panther leapt from the rooftop and collided solidly with the Hunter which caused him to drop the rope and allowed the filly to regain her footing and dash off back into the herd followed by her mother. There was no point to fight the Hunters any longer with her daughter free.
The Hunter and Nadya grappled, her claws swiping viciously at him as he attempted to get away from under her. The Hunter managed to twist around and grab a dagger from his belt, stabbing up at the Were in any attempt to connect. A roar of pain escaped her throat as the dagger embedded itself into her shoulder but that wide swing he made to make such a move opened up his face and she made no hesitation going for the kill. Her jaws enclosed around his head as easily as cracking open an egg. The panther stumbled off of her victim to survey the chaos still going on around them. The herd was beginning to thin now as they were all filtering through that door. The majority of the Hunters had been dealt with but the sound of more coming from the hall filled the air. These ones would be better armed and would no doubt follow after the ones who made of the rear of the herd.
Nadya saw the first wave of reinforcements spill out from around the huts and hurried out to the end of the herd even as the shoulder screamed in protest. That fierce anger at everything that the Hunters were welled inside of her and felt like a fire more intense than the one that coursed through her during a shift. Her jaws parted, a vicious roar ripping through her as she faced that mounted unit, that very fire within her reaching out with her ability of pain directed at them. Never before had she been able to target multiples with her pain ability but all at once those Hunter's hands reached for their heads as their own screams of pain filled the air, falling from their mounts as blood trickled from orifices. Her intense concentration on them never ceased until she felt blood coming from her own nose. The panther shook her head in defiance, breaking her concentration on the unit and used that break in the attack to shift back to human form.
Wiping the blood from her nose, she quickly wrenched out the dagger from her shoulder then shrugged on one of those fallen Hunter's long coats around her nude form. One of those mounts had seemingly decided that it would be better off to take his chances elsewhere and took off in direction of the gates. It was hard to tell who was more surprised by it as Nadya had leapt at the horse's form, catching the rim of his saddle horn and managed to hold on to pull herself up. "Don't look back and don't stop running until I say to." Nadya firmly instructed the horse with a slight glare. Although she could not fault a Were for choose out of fear, she could fault it for decided to choose to turn back now.
She could only hope that Frost had gotten through the gates. The snow was falling so thick now it was hard to tell which way was which. Nadya had paid attention which side the mountain range was on the way in though and she had the Werehorse follow that as fast as he could before the remaining Hunters, drunk or not, could arm up and make it onto their mounts after them. The cold bit at her flesh through the trench coat and while it was helping to slow the bleeding of her injuries, it wasn't a very pleasant way to do it. All she could think of was the stash of supplies Frost had had her hide before entering the compound. They were somewhere in this direction...she knew it.
