South

The southern part of the city has a chic family-oriented sort of charm to it. Here, small locally owned shops run rampant, neighbors often know each other by name, and the monthly socials are an event not to be missed. In the South, children can often be seen safely playing in the park or on sidewalks and in the weekends, families often take to the beach to enjoy the warm waters surrounding the city.

Raylin Chike

Her creaky old bones groan as she takes a seat at the bar... no not really, but the girl felt like she had been pummeled to an inch of her life after working a double waiting tables on a Friday night. Why did she pick up that extra shift again? Oh yeah, because she was broke. She hardly wanted to call dear old mom and dad up and ask for a loan. Not that they wouldn't give it to her... but because she didn't want to listen to their nagging about doing something with her life. Raylin was entirely content to continue what she was doing. And that was nothing at all, funding her hobbies to get by and making enough to pay the bills. I mean, she was the true definition of a millennial living pay check to pay check!

Still, Raylin has nothing to complain about. She was content and happy.

Pushing her pink locks over her shoulder, she yanks her hair from the ponytail, sending her mass of waves cascading down her back. Man, that felt good. You could never really explain to a guy how nice it felt to take your hair out after a long day! Scratching at her head a bit, she groans in sweet relief just as the bartender approaches her, "Raylin! Long time no see! You've left us hanging here for a few weeks, we were worried nature finally did you in!" he laughs as he leans over the bar as he strikes up conversation, "Not yet, Tim," she smiles well at him, "I think work will kill me first," she laughs delighted as she shrugs out of her coat, letting it fall over the back of the chair. "Whatcha want, darlin'?" he asks, momentarily distracted by the bell ringing, announcing another visitor. "Whatever IPA you have on tap," she says, leaning her elbows on the bar as Tim withdraws from her to start pouring her drink.

She watches him in anticipation, her mouth already watering as the glass is placed in front of her. "On the house for my favorite customer," he winks at her merely causing Ray to laugh, "You're still not getting that date, you're old enough to be my dad," she grins at him. "Oh my poor heart! That's no way to speak to your elders!" he exclaims jokingly as he clutches his chest and walks away. Ray shakes her head, a smile tugging at her lips as she lifts the beer to her mouth and takes a long sip. It was so good! She wiggles in her seat excitedly as she hums under her breath contentedly. Perhaps she would have one more, Tim was nice enough to provide her with the first drink free, it only seemed right to buy something. She could afford a drink or two at the very least!

Raylin enjoys her drink, taking her time to savor it, not quite ready to turn in for the night... although, she knew she wanted to get up early to go ply in the water. Oh, the conundrum. Allowing to let herself fall into her thoughts, she rests her cheek on her hand, elbow on the bar and crosses a leg over the other, watching Tim work diligently serving his customers. How nice it would be to own you're own place, to do whatever you want. Sighing, she sits and contemplates how much money she would actually need to do just that.
