South

The southern part of the city has a chic family-oriented sort of charm to it. Here, small locally owned shops run rampant, neighbors often know each other by name, and the monthly socials are an event not to be missed. In the South, children can often be seen safely playing in the park or on sidewalks and in the weekends, families often take to the beach to enjoy the warm waters surrounding the city.

She's habitually paradoxical, a parallel perpendicular;

Daylight hours were so much safer than the sweet gentle embrace of night, she was entirely sure of it. That encounter with that frightening but sad young vampire still lingering fresh within her mind. How she enjoyed the night, the silvery moonlight and those harsh shadows upon the forest for and the of so dazzling display of stars that expanded as far as the eye could see! Nature, how she felt at home within it and during the day with the brilliant sun not hindered by a single cloud in that great sky, despite that cool nip that dances across her flesh, she felt content. She could hardly help as she lifted her gaze upward, feeling the warmth of the sun on her face, relishing within the feel of that warming gentle caress. She had just visited her secret spot, hanging a few items she had procured the week before. Finding items to add to her assorted collection of shiny, vibrant rare gemstones was increasingly becoming harder. Iliana had exerted all the places she could think of, she would need to expand her search, but truly the petite blond fae was a timid creature of habit. Mr. Crow would surely help her if she asked for it, he was so good at spotting things she could not from way up above. She was almost envious of her raven companion.

But as she drew her gaze downward, a ray of sunshine so graciously seemed to listen to her thoughts as she saw a flash of green through the tangle of the trees. Peculiar. Had the very sun had truly shone on her today? She thought happily, whispering her silent thanks but she was no fool to simply just walk right into the open and take the thing. It had to belong to someone.. They had to be close. Upon her approach she noticed the shining emerald was nestled atop something that looked like clothing. It was a lovely day but why would someone go swimming when the water had just thawed from relative cold snap? She loved this place, loved the lake and the animals that so seemed to congregate here. But the clearing was full of silence. Something, or someone was here, she was sure of it, she could feel it in the bones. She felt like a cautious deer in that moment, hugging those trees as if to conceal her form, trying to make herself seem smaller than she actually was.

She would need to tread extra carefully. She creeps, weaving through the array of trees so welcomingly there to conceal her slender form. She is even vigilant where she places her feet, careful not to trigger any loud and imposing sounds. Closer she draws to the water, listening with those large pointed ears to pick up on where that person, or creature was. Even despite being aware, she could hardly help her metallic eyes from wandering back to that brilliant emerald gem, that perfectly caught the light of the generous sun. It looked like magic! She could hardly help herself from running to it. She absolutely had to have it! There was no doubt in her mind, that she would even risk herself being exposed just to hold it. She would retreat so quickly like she wasn't even there. She knew this forest, better than her own home! It would be fine she had assured herself.

How close she was to the water's edge, she could hear the sound the babbling water brushing against the shore as she clutches at her grey jacket before peering behind one of the large oak trunks. How ready she was to recoil should the owner of that necklace eyes catch her looking. At least she thought it was a man, he seemed so large, she just needed one more glimpse to be certain. Just one. She looked once more, noticing those large imposing wings that seemed to protrude from his back. Thankfully his attention was lingering elsewhere. He looked terribly frightening, like that snoozing man she had once fled from at the park. Oh she did not want to see that imposing fairy again, he frightened her to her very core. She even had a nightmare that he chased her, claiming he wanted to eat her bones! She shook her head to rid the thought. No, the chances this was the same man was entirely slim.

She seized the opportunity while his attention seemed far more focused on that cold ice water than encased him over that beautifully gleaming necklace. Now was her chance, she was sure of it. She scurried, basically tiptoeing with silent feet, using the trees for cover when she could before laying her eyes on the biggest most impressive emerald she had ever seen! It practically glowed brilliantly as the sun hit it just right! She nearly gasped at its beauty, her jaw dropping as she bent over to snatch it as quickly as she could. She practically hugged it against her, it was the best find she had seen, EVER! All she had to do was retreat further within that loving forest she knew so well and it would be hers. Avoiding detection was vital for her plan, she suspected the strange imposing man would not spend much more time within those icy waters so she had to act now.

Iliana could hardly help that curiosity that encroached on her mind. What creature would find those frigid temperatures pleasant was certainly a strange thing to consider. But she shoved it away as she tried to escape undetected.
