The silence was almost frightening. Willy had never been so far from his family; his pulsing waves of communication weren't received, no response. It had been days since he had heard another whale, the shifter having wander through a massive storm that wrecked the ocean days before. He had been hunting, hoping to bring something back to the pod and yet, not only did he find himself shorthanded on food... he had managed to swim too far to hear the family. The shifter had been raised within the confines of the pod, never straying too far and when they went to the land they went together, it was only natural; orcas stayed together. He had felt like he was wandering in circles, branching farther out every day and yet, he found himself close to a city, the noise could be heard beneath the water and it was just enough to distract him from the moment as he slowly breaches the surface, blowing air from his blow hole.
Zachary hardly pulls himself out of the water, just enough to get an eye out as he searches his surroundings. Such tiny figures walk along the beach, laughter dancing across the waves as he stays there for a moment, taking several deep breaths before plunging back under, his massive body gracefully disappearing as he moves farther out to sea, chasing a school of fish in the mean time. He even goes as far as to blow bubbles at them, enjoying the way they swim out of his way. Grunting, he releases a string of songs from his massive mouth only to swim faster and spiral through the ocean. Willy didn't realize how very bored it was to be alone, he had no one to play with! The fish swam in terror from him... and if he was being honest, he would run away too, big scary whale chasing you? Yeah, would probably make him wet himself.
Mentally sighing, he moves towards the open sea, just past the break, feeling the flow of the ocean around him. He hardly knows how long he swims and before he knows it he's swimming to the surface again, snorting through his blowhole as he scans his surroundings. Hesitating, the shifter catches a boat just in the distance, the massive black sails reaching for the sky and it was moving at a decent speed, enough to make a wake in its trail. Curiosity takes over him as he sinks beneath the surface and quickly swims in the direction of the sail boat, occasionally breaking the surface as he trails along in the wake. He follows for awhile long enough for the sail boat to stop and gather it's sails for the moment. Curiously, Willy watches as a man struts across the deck, listening to the tapping of his shoes echo through the ocean.
He stays there for a moment before diving under the boat, his dorsal fin brushing up against the bottom of the boat and man... did that feel good! Blowing bubbles in excitement, he rubs up against it again, hard enough to rock the boat as a sound of satisfaction escapes his massive mouth. When was the last time he got a good back scratch like this?! Without any regard to the human on board, he continues his scratching and therefore only continues to rock the boat more. No damage being done but perhaps a terrifying experience for the human on board.
