South

The southern part of the city has a chic family-oriented sort of charm to it. Here, small locally owned shops run rampant, neighbors often know each other by name, and the monthly socials are an event not to be missed. In the South, children can often be seen safely playing in the park or on sidewalks and in the weekends, families often take to the beach to enjoy the warm waters surrounding the city.

The very fashion in which Raven stuck out her tongue towards him so quickly prompted a roll of the man's eyes, that good natured simper finding his lips as his head simply shook and yet he so hardly made any effort to argue agianst her. Raven was right, after all,he was undoubtedly more handsome after a shower. No part of him inclined to argue that. The very idea of showering those elephants though was hardly one he found he took any true delight in. Tobias, even from his place upon that dry land, as content to eye that washing area with no small amount of disdain. It was foolish, he knew, that fear nothing short of ridiculous in every sense of the word and yet that near panic that so came with even the sight of the water was so deeply ingrained he was assured he could feel it rising. Both of them, it seemed, still feared that liquid. Even if to vastly different degrees. His own concern, however, should surely not prevent Raven enjoying her time with those creatures. Tobias was more than willing to allow his wife to enjoy that experience. Tobias himself content to simply watch on and over her in that fashion he always did. The elephants, in the very least, seemed to enjoy that experience. The adults all but appeared to relish in the spray of the water and the scrub of the brush Raven wielded. Those juvenile creatures however were quick to hurry away as if they too feared some accidental spray. Hmmm. Perhaps he they were even more intelligent than he had come to believe.

Those baby elephants, however, were quick to make their way towards him as if they somehow perceived that he might be their saviour from that bath- or in the very least they desired to know how he had gotten out of having to be showered. Raven's near humorous suggestion that they seemed to like him only furthered that look of bafflement on the man's face. Animals so rarely seemed to like him- or at least, real animals- Tobias momentarily inclined to find those creatures charming if only for their supposed like of him in turn. One of those adult elephants shifted then, the lumbering creature making its way toward those babies only to hustle them back over to where Raven waited. Tobias, in that moment, inclined to admit he found their parenting- impressive. Even if those babies were being forced into being bathed. How well he understood that feeling. Raven, for her part, seemed delighted in that task. The smile that adorned her features brighter and more beaming then he was sure he had seen in a long time. How good it was to see her enjoying herself! Raven reached out to pet the young elephant as she finished before her gaze shifted back to Tobias in turn with that insistence they were allowed to take them for a walk down that nearby trail. Tobias' gaze shifted from that elephant to the trail and back to Raven again. How on earth did one walk an elephant? Did they need a collar and leash?

"Will they just follow? Won't they run off?"

That concern within his voice was surely clear and yet that guide hardly seemed phased as he opened the gate to let the elephants out. The animals hardly hurried, rather, they walked near sedately out and began to head down that trail. Tobias, entirely baffled by that notion, moved to follow them with Raven beside him. The baby elephants, once more, seemed to seize that opportunity to hurry to his side as one proceeded to poke him with its trunk. The other, he could only presume, was attempting to eat his hair. They were certainly curious creatures. Raven's insistence once more that they seemed to like him was met with another near curious glance toward his wife.

"I don't know why. Maybe I somehow smell appealing to them. Really, I think the mother is not at all watching her babies like she should."

The mother elephant so hardly seemed concerned at all, Tobias rolling his eyes near good-naturedly at her apparent lack of worry as those babies continued to poke at him. Tobias reached out several times to gently grasp that prying trunk, much to the apparent delight of the creature as it continued its wayward game. How odd an activity this had been for Raven to pick and yet, Tobias was willing to admit that he rather found he enjoyed it. Even if those animals confused him all the same. The delight Raven seemed to take from it was surely all that mattered. How he adored seeing her smile like that! His hand so easily found her own then, Tobias entwining his fingers with her own as they strolled, his lips pressing softly to her cheek.

"I am glad we did this. It's a perfect end to the day."
