South

The southern part of the city has a chic family-oriented sort of charm to it. Here, small locally owned shops run rampant, neighbors often know each other by name, and the monthly socials are an event not to be missed. In the South, children can often be seen safely playing in the park or on sidewalks and in the weekends, families often take to the beach to enjoy the warm waters surrounding the city.

He would never forget the time spent with Sorcha. She was something else, alright. A talented witch with a kind heart and a fiery determination. He could see the darkness lurking in the corners but she always fought it back, never admitting defeat. Maybe that light in her was what drew him in like a moth to the flame. He never stopped thinking about her when she left to go find her own way. He wasn't sure if he would ever hear from her again but he held out hope that some day, she would. When she was ready. Humans and other immortals usually came into his life and then out in the blink of an eye, the memory of them never completely forgotten but nothing that was going to change his life or anything like that. Something about Sorcha stayed with him though, just as the faces of his Maker, Godric, and his prodigy, Maria, would always be with him.

He sat in the booth and waited patiently while Sorcha got her food. He didn't want to startle her or demand anything from her. If she didn't want to explain where she'd been or why she didn't contact him, he wouldn't ask it of her. She owed him nothing in his opinion. If anything, she'd given him the company he'd been yearning for in those weeks she stayed with him. She gave him a sense of purpose again. When she turned around, he knew the moment her eyes found him cause he felt the hairs on the back of his neck stand up in attention and his skin felt tingly, almost electric. It was like she could see right through him, just like before. He let out a breath even though he didn't need to. It was just a reaction when it came to her. Like she made him feel more human.

She was still straight forward as she proved by walking right over him to with a smile and sliding into the booth across him. His own lips tugged into a smile to match, his blue eyes lighting up as she started eating her fries and said she hoped he wasn't saving the seat for anyone. He shook his head as he leaned back in the seat. "It wasn't." He said with a small smirk, his gaze still studying her pretty features, trying to read her. She had maybe aged a little, but she still looked just as pure and beautiful as he remembered. Her heart still shone like a diamond on her sleeve and her eyes were so alive. When she lid the tray toward him, he lifted a brow in amusement before reaching out to take a single fry. He slowly brought it to his lips and took a bite, taking his time to savor the flavor.

It would never be as he remembered from his time as a human. Fries weren't even invented then. He would never know their true taste. But human food was still interesting when he did try it. She seemed to be enjoying them so he was curious. Her next words had him tilting his head thoughtfully before he looked around and shrugged. "Maybe I was worried for the safety of these fries and wanted to make sure they didn't fall prey to your barbarous appetite." His eyes twinkled with mischief as he leaned across the table a little, inhaling her sweet perfume. It hit all the right buttons. It was good to see her again.
