Some fear fire, but I've become it.
Tetradore snorted softly before informing her that those tasty little croissants took days make. Days?! She could not hide the look of utter disbelief. Why did it take so long? While she had learned some things from her grandmother when she was younger, it was as simple as mixing ingredients in the correct order and following instruction. That was something that Mira had excelled at. But days? Perhaps she could not argue with the method to the madness that was making such fine intricate buttery pastries when they ended up so delicious. Although, she could not help but cultivate a new appreciation for the patience required for it. "I had no idea. Talk about a labour of love." She commented. However how much disbelief she had over that tidbit of knowledge it was nothing in comparison to Tetradore already appearing dressed and ready to face the world outside that room. What time was it? How could he already be more awake than her? It had to be hunger. Clearly. Hunger was an excellent motivator to get out of bed and even she could not deny that her empty stomach was starting to get a little disgruntled in its current state. But even that could not compete with the motivation that was the vague promise of a surprise. How that snagged her burning curiousity, enough to incentivize her into action and a promise to be ready by the time he returned. A vow she could at least put every ounce of effort into achieving. How he seemed to know one of her very weaknesses she was helpless against. The mention of a surprise triggered her almost child-like glee and had her feeding right out of the palm of his hand.
Not a moment later, Tetradore's form retreated and disappeared into the vast new ship, the door closing softly behind him. Was it even still morning? She supposed that it hardly mattered. It was morning enough for her. The vibrant sun was up but it was hard to gauge what time of day it was on this side of the world.. Strict schedules and responsibility could at least be put off for the remainder of that seabound voyage at the very least.
But first, she had a promise to deliver. The she-wolf began her simple morning routine.. even if it could not compare with how Tetradore was ready within mere minutes. She moved with a swift sense of purpose, her mind searching for any clues that he might have been careless in revealing in his words. How could he have planned any surprises when she had been by his side for most of that trip? Hmm. Had he planned this before hand? She could not help but wonder as she savoured in the minty flavour of toothpaste and tamed those bed touselled locks. She was fully dressed by the time she heard that door click open which only had her practically bursting with excitement.
The woman popped her head out just to make sure, her lips tugged into a smile that possessed notes of victory. She was right on time.
The woman soon emerged, her golden eyes shone as her gaze landed upon Aiden whose brows rose as she laughed, after those moments of waking she had found herself in the beginnings of a playful mood. Maybe it was the promise of food... or the surprises.. or maybe it was simply Aiden himself. She hardly knew.
That eyeroll she had already earned only made her warm smile grow as she stood before him, hands upon her hips. Jokes about surprises was nothing short of cruelty. Since when did he joke about surprises. He claimed and his very words caused her to hesitate.. Hm. He had a point. She couldn't help but recall that moment he'd surprised her and it involved being whisked away to China and motorcycles. What could he possibly have in store now? The thought made her want to squirm. "Never ever. I'm glad this is serious business but.. now I can't think of anything else." She locked eyes with him. Was it possible for his eyes grow more vibrant? Or was it simply the way the light that pooled in from the window made them appear almost luminous to the woman. She swiftly crossed the distance between them, feet light and barely made a sound. She couldn't wait a second longer with surprises on the line.
Tetradore led the way, uttering the unnecessary words to 'come on'. She'd happily oblige, trailing behind her boyfriend who purposefully led her down the spiral staircase she could recall from before. They didn't venture down there during the tour. It was odd but apparently they had run out of time. Little dd she know that it was strategic. Finally, at the bottom of those steps, she could see a massive window that led to the garage. His garage. Oh, that sacred place that held or would hold all his prized possessions. Well most of them were missing, remaining at his brother's place still likely to dominate a nice portion of his lengthy drive.
Natural sunlight beamed down into the space, the water from the pool above It distorting the refracted light with a blue tinge to the space. "Now that's the coolest thing I have ever seen. I can't believe I didn't notice it when they showed us the pool.." She uttered in admiration, her golden eyes scanning the space as she took it in for the first time. This was far better than any bat cave, she was sure. His Lamborghini and newly purchased Bugatti were already proudly tucked away in their respective spaces, although it looked barren without the rest of his fleet to join them. But what was odd, was that the pair of Tetradore's cars were not alone. Her gaze snagged upon something covered in the far distance but her line of sight was obstructed. Aiden moved with purpose, leading them into that nearly empty garage. Was that the surprise? To show off his new cars in their new home? They looked like carefully guarded gems in this pristine space.
While distracted, Tetradore reached for her hand, ushering her along before he paused in the middle of that room. The man of few words nodded in the direction of that covered mystery vehicle. Surprise. He said without the true enthusiasm of the word, almost conflicting her thoughts.. He didn't elaborate and yet it was clear that she was supposed to remove the cover? She strode forward with purpose.. toward it. She couldn't help but wonder what this was about. He wouldn't just surprise her with a car? Would he? It was one thing to go on a shopping spree. It was another to lavish her in those extreme gifts that the woman was certainly not used to. Surely this was just him wanting to share the moment of one of his purchases. To see that beautiful space, just the two of them.
He had bought her a motorcycle and that had almost destroyed her. But she loved that thing. But a car was infinitely bigger... It was... She froze as if forgetting to move, gaping at it. She wouldn't consider the idea. Surprise didn't always mean gifted cars. That would be ridiculous, right? She refused to believe it. It was certainly not logical.. Not with the evidence staring at her in the face. Yet... it would seem curiousity was not reserved only for cats as the she-wolf took several steps toward the covered car. Mira's last steps were far more purposeful as if she couldn't stand not knowing.
Her fingers brushed against the light grey cover, gentle and tentative before she got a firm hold of it and tugged it off, revealing the F-type Jaguar in all its glory. She dropped the cover, stunned as she gawked at it, before touching it to make sure it was real. That was one her cars. At least one of the ones she had wanted.
"Te-Aiden." She couldn't decide on which name she used so she accidently merged the two together, finding herself almost tongue tied. Sure she shouldn't have. Especially not when a Bugatti and a Lamborghini were parked so near. Yet she couldn't help it. She had been day dreaming about a car like this for too long. "That's.. a car." Wow, did she really just say that? To make matters worse, she pointed at it, well more like gestured toward it. She hated it for all its perfect shininess because she could see herself in the reflection. She had no choice but to amend her silly words. Although, it was not better by much. "A really really nice Jaguar f-type. But it just doesn't look like...." It was beautiful. It was exactly what she would have chosen for herself. Although the type of car was not... lost on her. There was an amusement of a Jaguar driving a Jaguar. Although, it didn't really seem like his type.
" you're style. She eyed it again. It was sporty and sleek, the perfect kind of car someone could drive anywhere and yet it still was nothing to shun. No, it was peppy too. She rose her gaze as she eyed him over the car. "Can... I drive it? Or borrow it a little. As your girlfriend you should consider letting me drive something sometimes. I am an excellent driver." She probed, unable to help that playful grin, that was admittably a little crooked and yet it lit her features, her voice holding that humour.. "Obviously not now or I am sure all kinds of mishaps could take place and it is much too pretty for that."
