South

The southern part of the city has a chic family-oriented sort of charm to it. Here, small locally owned shops run rampant, neighbors often know each other by name, and the monthly socials are an event not to be missed. In the South, children can often be seen safely playing in the park or on sidewalks and in the weekends, families often take to the beach to enjoy the warm waters surrounding the city.

Ascension Center of Equitation

The Ascension Center of Equitation is the epicenter of the Dark Hunter Cavalry Unit. Originally a high-class facility for show-jumping, Ascension now caters entirely to the Cavalry Unit. Here the Dark Hunters learn how to ride and fight upon the backs of horses - many of which are Were's themselves.

Hyde Park

Hyde Place takes up a large part of the Southern side of the city and includes a large playground, several fountains, and a small garden. The park is open from five in the morning till midnight though many shady characters may visit this place while it's technically "closed". The park has also been a venue for several concerts and hosts many holiday-related events. Under a full moon, witches are often seen here for the sacred ground beneath the iconic Weeping Beech.

Point Defiance Zoo and Aquarium

The Point Defiance Zoo & Aquarium (PDZA) is an award-winning combined zoo and aquarium located within the Southern Part of Sacrosanct. Situated on 92 acres in Sacrosanct's Hyde Park, the zoo and aquarium are home to over 9,000 specimens representing 367 animal species. Point Defiance is also widely known for its conversation efforts regarding the breed and release program of Red Wolves.

The Outskirts

Beyond the city limits and over the bridge lies the deep, dark, and almost impenetrable forest. Often seen as a way to guard this magical city against the world that surrounds it, many are entirely ignorant of the evil that may creep between those tree trunks. Many were-creatures use the forest for the transformations of their newest members and some even take to hunting here. It isn't particularly peculiar for people to go missing within this forest but once you get through, the rest of the world awaits.

Oh mercy, will it overcome us

As a human, I didn't enjoy driving cars. They felt metallic, cold, closed in, and like a ridiculous death cage or trap that you would meet your end, in. I enjoyed neither driving cars nor traveling in them, preferring to transport myself via my own means, or by some kind of public transportation that offered me many other outlets instead of the small doors attached to a car. It had struck me once that it was the animalistic nature held captive beneath my "human" skin that didn't like cars, and for good reason I began to trust it. Instincts intact, I avoided most cars and et cetera. But this evening, I had tried to put those instincts aside to cross the road but much like the unfortunate chicken who often met his end trying to cross the road, I had chosen to try a new route home.

The weight of the car had felt immense. It was like nothing I had constricted myself. Like nothing I had destroyed. My reptilian brain couldn't comprehend the magnitude in which I had been hurt, making cataloging my injuries impossible. The stench of flesh animated longer than natural was impending. Had I been human, bile would have risen in response to the stench and I would have wretched in my pain and dismay at the predators who had done this to me. Could they not see me? The end of my tail rolled angrily, first allowing me to try and lash out at the male who had stepped from the car first. The attempt was nullified quickly as the action sent multiple waves of pain that I was not prepared for. The pain was excruciating at first, subsiding in waves to lesser spasms. Each spasm wracked my body, its effects visible to both creatures responsible for their existence. The soft words of the woman who had inched her way closer to me when I had been paying more attention to my bodily pain hit my ears, but with no recognition did I accept them. Her words meant nothing to me, and I wanted desperately to hiss my distaste, to let her smell the venom of my teeth. But unfortunately, the action wasn't available.

The only action that seemed viable was the pull of my human skin to replace the visibly reptilian scales that were visible now. With a loud, emanating hiss of my distress, the scales dissipated to relinquish human legs, and a body to follow. Although my body may have been mangled, I was lucky that part of my dress stayed intact and allowed a form of dignity to remain, too. Besides that small sliver, though, dignity was nowhere to be found as I lay in the street in front of two vampires with pools of blood developing beside my legs where my injuries were uncomfortably and regrettably visible.

...Were they going to eat me?

I wanted to call at them with a rage I would have mustered had I been able to make more than a croak with my voice. Tears had already begun sliding unbidden from my eyes, and my breathing aberrant at best. Did they not see me?! How - ... I hiccupped quietly, hoping the redheaded woman might have some kind of sympathy somewhere for me.

"P-please d-don't eat me...." Okay, maybe that was over-kill, but could you blame a girl for her delirium?
