South

The southern part of the city has a chic family-oriented sort of charm to it. Here, small locally owned shops run rampant, neighbors often know each other by name, and the monthly socials are an event not to be missed. In the South, children can often be seen safely playing in the park or on sidewalks and in the weekends, families often take to the beach to enjoy the warm waters surrounding the city.

Ascension Center of Equitation

The Ascension Center of Equitation is the epicenter of the Dark Hunter Cavalry Unit. Originally a high-class facility for show-jumping, Ascension now caters entirely to the Cavalry Unit. Here the Dark Hunters learn how to ride and fight upon the backs of horses - many of which are Were's themselves.

Hyde Park

Hyde Place takes up a large part of the Southern side of the city and includes a large playground, several fountains, and a small garden. The park is open from five in the morning till midnight though many shady characters may visit this place while it's technically "closed". The park has also been a venue for several concerts and hosts many holiday-related events. Under a full moon, witches are often seen here for the sacred ground beneath the iconic Weeping Beech.

Point Defiance Zoo and Aquarium

The Point Defiance Zoo & Aquarium (PDZA) is an award-winning combined zoo and aquarium located within the Southern Part of Sacrosanct. Situated on 92 acres in Sacrosanct's Hyde Park, the zoo and aquarium are home to over 9,000 specimens representing 367 animal species. Point Defiance is also widely known for its conversation efforts regarding the breed and release program of Red Wolves.

The Outskirts

Beyond the city limits and over the bridge lies the deep, dark, and almost impenetrable forest. Often seen as a way to guard this magical city against the world that surrounds it, many are entirely ignorant of the evil that may creep between those tree trunks. Many were-creatures use the forest for the transformations of their newest members and some even take to hunting here. It isn't particularly peculiar for people to go missing within this forest but once you get through, the rest of the world awaits.

The University of Sacrosanct

her eyes hold the apocalypse

South
She's a natural in disaster
The silence after and before
We're the ones she's chasing after
She's coming back for more

It had been such a long time since Tamzin had to deal with emotions, and she had no idea what to do with herself. She had been so set in a way of life for the last few years and then all of a sudden she gets a curveball. She never thought anything would affect her again, not after all the practice she's had. It seemed that Sera changed everything though; she unleased emotions in Tamzin that she thought were dead. Things like fear, anxiety, and love; all of which were battling inside of her each one trying to rule. It made the Dark Hunter uncomfortable; she wasn't sure what to do which is part of the reason why she kept drinking. True, alcohol wasn't the best idea in this situation, there was so much riding on it, but it was the only thing that seemed to be helping even a little bit.

She gripped the glass less firmly this time as she took a somewhat smaller drink, her eyes never leaving Sera's own bright ones. Slowly the glass was placed down and she took a deep breath and tried to force herself to relax again. She succeeded enough for her hands to unclench, but that only lasted a few seconds. Tamzin listened to her old friend's explanation and she felt that protective nature for the other rise in her once again. Sera had been that young kid in Tamzin's mind for years, because that is what she was when they last saw each other. It was strange how your mind would keep someone in one form for the longest time because it was unable to picture them any other way. Sera was sitting before her though, very much grown up and attractively so.

"I'm sorry that happened to you, and I'm sorry he did this to you."

The Dark Hunter still wasn't fond of the fact that her childhood friend was now a witch, especially considering she had vowed to protect humans and other Dark Hunters from any supernatural being. True, witches weren't as bad as werewolves or vampires, but they were still capable of doing damage if they had the constitution for such. She was trained to kill and destroy supernatural things, but this situation had gotten complicated very quickly. That thought made her wonder why or who exactly put this hit out on Sera. Tamzin never asked many questions when given a mark, most of this was done by anonymous means. It made business easier, no one knew who she truly was and she never had to ask why she was hired to kill certain individuals.

"Who would want you dead?"

The question left her lips before she could stop it, and for a second she hated herself for asking. She knew that she was never supposed to ask questions about a mark, but she never thought what it would be like if the mark was someone she cared about. Tamzin's whole world was just a mess right now, she was so torn between completing the job or pretending she never accepted this contract. If she truly wanted, she could have Sera dead in seconds, she was good at what she did, and that was why she sold her skills. It was Sera though, and once again she was getting so wrapped up in her thoughts that she needed to take another drink. After a few seconds she got her mind to quiet down once again, at least temporarily.

"I don't know if finding each other counts for anything, Sera. I mean, I was hired to kill you, and whoever it is that hired me is paying a lot of fucking money for this to happen. I already fucked up by not killing you, and I'm only fucking up farther by sitting here and drinking with you. I don't think you understand the gravity of this situation. If I don't kill you I get turned on and though I'm good at ducking people it would only last for so long. This is a dangerous business, but it's the only thing I've been good at."

Once again she finished off her drink and she waved at the bartender to bring another and motioned for him to bring one to Sera as well. Tamzin made sure not to mention anything about the supernatural threats or her job until after he went back behind the bar. This time she took a smaller sip, she knew if she kept drinking at the rate she had been she would be falling over herself and it would be a repeat of the night she almost died. Bright blue eyes squeezed closed as she felt her mind slip back to that night all those years ago, and she tried to force it away again.

"I don't know what to do. I don't want to go through what I have before. Did you know I almost fucking died on my twenty-first birthday? Vampires, at least six of them attacked me outside of a night club and took turns feeding off of me. They left me there to die, and by some miracle a Dark Hunter found me and took pity on me. Even now he won't tell me what he saw inside me that night, but he saved me."

Tamzin wasn't why she was confessing all of this to Sera right now, so she chalked it up to being intoxicated. Why couldn't things ever be easy? Why couldn't she just have stuck with her trademark of not caring or feeling and just finished the job. There would be no problems, she wouldn't be fighting herself internally, and she wouldn't be feeling anything. Those pesky feelings were getting to her more than anything; she hadn't dealt with any sort of emotions in years. It's part of what made her so good at what she did, but all good things had to end eventually.

"Look, I don't even know what to do right now. Let's just drink and I'll figure everything out when I'm sober. Drink."

Maybe if she got Sera drunk enough to let her guard down and she was drunk enough to not care what she was feeling the job would be completed. There was only one way to figure that out though, so she pushed the Vodka towards Sera and offered her a friendly smile. She lifted her own glass as if in a toast before taking a drink, bright eyes never leaving Sera's own.
