The western part of the city is often home to the poorer residents. Here there is a grunginess that permeates the town from the graffiti on the once cleaned brick buildings to the broken and unmaintained architecture. Crime runs high within the western half of town, making it the home of supernatural gangs of illicit activities. Such activities are rarely reported, however, and most residents are distrustful of individual's of authorities, and often let the powerful supernatural beings sort things out amongst themselves. Be careful wandering the Western streets after the sun falls.

Just like any city - Sacrosanct is not without it's deep, dark underbelly. Hidden in the graffiti-ridden streets of the West, behind closed warehouse doors, lies the Black Market. Forever moving, it's nearly impossible to find without knowing someone who knows someone. Anything you desire can be brought for a hefty price within the Black Market - be it drugs, weapons, or lives.
Hidden within the dark alleyways of the Western Ward, Cull & Pistol is a dim, often smoky bar. With a small variety of bottled and craft beers, Cull & Pistol is a quaint little neighborhood joint. With its no-frills moto, the dingy bar offers little more than liquor, music from an old jukebox, and a few frequently occupied pool tables.

Resting upon the harbor, Noah's Ark (known simply as The Ark) is a sleek superyacht known both for its fight rings and recent...renovations, of sorts. Accessible from an entrance hidden in the shadows, The Ark is a veritable Were-playground that specializes in fighting tournaments for all creatures great and small. With both singles and doubles tournaments to compete in, the title of Ark Champion is hotly contested amongst the Were population. If anything illegal is going on in the city it's sure to be happening within the back rooms or behind the ring-side bar.
Note: This is a Were only establishment. All other species will be swiftly escorted out.

Within the turbulent industrial district lies this club. The warehouse doesn't look like much on the outside but it provides a memorable experience from the state of the art lighting, offbeat Victorian-inspired artwork, comfortable black leather lounges, and the infamous 'black light' room. There is a wide variety of alcohol that lines the shelves of both of the magical and ordinary variety. It is a common stomping ground for the supernatural who want to let loose and dance the night away to the music that floods the establishment. Humans are most welcome if they dare.

She liked the way he looked at her when she played with her hair and looked at him from beneath her long dark lashes. It made her feel oddly powerful. She'd never had anyone look at her like that and she only wanted him to be that one who did. She couldn't think of anyone else she'd rather have look at her like that. It had always been him. She was sure that he wanted to return to his hunt but he was good at giving her attention, at making her feel special, like she may actually be more important than his hunt. She didn't feel like she was boring him or needlessly taking up his time and it had been a long time since she didn't feel like a burden to anyone. Frost always made her feel like he was just bored or something so that's why he would give her the time of the day and Raven just didn't have the time for her like she used to because she always wanted to be around Tobias. Alexis didn't blame her at all. If she had someone like him in her life, she would probably want to spend all her time with him too. When she brought to mind the state of his prey, he seemed almost sympathetic toward the Were he was hunting and that made her heart only swell more for Alexander. It's not very often you find such a seasoned killer that doesn't want someone to suffer for the job that he has to do. It is these things that make him differ from men like Frost. Frost enjoys his kills. He tortures them for the fun of it, like he did that hunter in the warehouse. Alexander only wants them dead but he doesn't believe in letting someone suffer. She could admire that in him. She liked how eager he was to lean forward to her and hear what she had to whisper and it made goosebumps run across her arms to hear him assure her that he would love to satisfy all of her needs. It surprised her when he reached for her hand but it felt so right to have his warm fingers pressed against her own as he led her into the next alley. For once, she felt like someone's equal and she loved it. But the one he hunted was missing, the only sign of where it was a trail of blood. Still, Alexis could smell a wounded animal nearby. She could sense that it was still here. She just couldn't pinpoint where. But she knew when she was in danger and she had learned how to use her shield, just as Frost had taught her. She pulled it up just in time for the animal to hit it and throw him back and she couldn't help the self satisfied smirk that twitched at her own lips when the animal was thrown into the wall. She turned her gaze to her companion, sure that he would be moving to finish what he had started but instead he reached up to tap at her shield and she tilted her head. His soft statement seemed almost as if it was meant only for his ears but she gave him a simper anyway. "IT COMES IN HANDY SOMETIMES." She offered with a light shrug, liking this easy banter with him. For a moment, he seemed thoughtful and her eyes narrowed a little in thought, wondering what was going on inside that handsome head of his. But all of a sudden something changed in his eyes and he was back in the moment, pulling a dagger seemingly out of nowhere to throw it straight at the beast where it landed in the meat of the animal's hindquarters. She winced instinctively, if only because this was another Were and a part of her would always sympathize with her own species but she kept telling herself that he must deserve this. He must have done something wrong to have someone like Alexander hunting him. She stood back, keeping her bow drawn on the creature in case he moved to attack Alexander. This was his territory and she would let him have it. She listened inquisitively as he asked about the creature's pack, reaching out to touch him and she knew he must be using his mind reading abilities. She shifted a little, though kept her face unreadable, remembering all too fondly what it felt like to have someone walking around in her head. He must have gotten what he wanted because suddenly he grasped the creature's antlers to hold him steady and an arrow head flashed in his hand to embed itself in the elk's body, ending his life so suddenly and yet now he wasn't in any pain. Alexis let that comfort her. She heard Alexander's soft comment about four more to go and wondered to herself if he was going to hunt down the rest of the creature's pack. She kept wondering for her own sake what they had done to deserve death but felt that it wasn't her business to know. He was the hunter and this was his calling. She just had to keep telling herself that they deserved it. He slowly turned to her and apologized for getting her involved. She answered his smile with a soft inviting one of her own, lowering her bow and letting it disappear in a wisp of smoke as she twitched her wrist. At his question, she tilted her head, eyes smoldering again as she bit down on her bottom lip. "I WOULDN'T SAY THAT. BUT I'M SURE YOU CAN FIND SOME WAY TO CONVINCE ME JUST HOW THE REST OF THE NIGHT SHOULD GO." Her lips pulled at the corners into a teasing smirk, one brow raising as she stepped toward him. She tried not to think about the dead creature lying just behind him, instead taking the time to admire the full manliness of the being before her. Her hands reached up to slide up his chest, her head leaning up so that her lips were just inches from his own. Her eyes studied his and unbidden, her new ability leaped to life at this new intimacy, shielding her mind from his ability so that he would have to guess just like a normal person what she was thinking. No more cheating, not with her. |
